I suspect that the challenge of fitting something "solid" to the top of the bed would be the curve--take a long stick and look--it curves at least both direction front-to-back (curves in at both ends and crowns at center). fought the same thing trying to fit rails on the top of the Trac bed...

Not in the Ranger, but within a few weeks of getting my old Trac I was driving and attacked by two birds within a mile (grille wipeouts) and another about a week later. ++15 years ago--since, nope. But there have been a few this summer that came close....

Haven't seen this: SuperCab rear door full-open hinges (270 degree+standoff so they lay flat against the truck) Endorse the Driver-side grab handle. I took the Trac for service once and got it back with a squeak in the steering wheel that wasn't there before. Thinking one of the shop monkeys...
