  1. How many of you already have dings?

Just a fair warning for folks. The metal on this truck can ding very easily .... way easier than I actually ever thought possible. Not exaggerating when I say it's about as durable as a can of beans. I'm in the habit of tapping the metal with my knuckles every time I wash it. I don't do it...
  2. Careful using Dr. Colorchip ...

Hey folks, I just wanted to warn folks who were thinking about using Dr. Color chip on the front bumper of their trucks to cover some paint chipping, I ended up using it and having an issue where it actually seemed to have lightly etched the paint around the chip. You can see the etching (kinda...
  3. What are your thoughts on the Ranger's long-term durability?

I realize that this has been discussed in other posts before, but I don't believe we have a post specifically discussing owner's perspectives/beliefs regarding the truck's long-term durability. Granted, much of this will be speculation, as the only real way to test this is to let time take its...
  4. Ranger has fresh competition...

I hand wash mine because I'm afraid the Carwash will scratch or peel off the paint. Even moderate pressure on the roof causes it to flex, very concerning.
  5. Ranger has fresh competition...

I did look at the Tacoma when deciding to purchase the Ranger, and TBH, would have gone with it if not for the price difference. In my area, Tacomas are VERY popular, and the dealerships just wouldn't budge or offer any kind of incentives. The Ford dealerships were willing to negotiate and give...
  6. How long for the Ranger smile to fade?

Have had mine close to 2 years now, took about 6 months.
  7. What do you regret buying for your Ranger?

Honestly, after almost 2 years of ownership, I kind of regret buying the truck. At first, it seemed amazing, with a transmission and engine that just glides! Super smooth (still my favorite part of the truck). What I should have paid more attention to is the general quality of everything else...
  8. Ranger has fresh competition...

Depending on the price, I might end up trading in my Ranger for that frontier. I first have to "feel" the body panels, and get a sense for the durability of the "body" components. Don't get me wrong, the Ranger has an incredible engine and solid transmission, but literally everything else about...
  9. Faulty battery?

I did have an anti-theft device installed by the dealership, blinking green light, is that parasitic to the battery?
  10. Faulty battery?

Is it really covered under that? I thought the batteries had their own separate warranty?
  11. Faulty battery?

Hi everyone, I got my 2019 Ranger in July of 2019, and I haven't used it much (I drive a 200 mile round trip every 2-3 weeks, all highway). I noticed a few weeks back that the truck wouldn't start, and so I figured it was the battery. I got it jumped and it started up right away. I drove it a...
  12. How many of you already have dings?

I don't know man, at least if I did them I feel like it was my mistake. I personally think other-inflected dings are worse. Especially when/if you park far away from anyone and you STILL get a ding.
  13. What’s with all the Ranger hate reviews?

The only thing I dislike about the truck is the quality of body panels and paint. This is by far the most flimsy feeling "body panels" and scratch prone paint I have ever experienced in a vehicle. Other than that, I love the actual performance of the truck (super impressed with the engine) along...
  14. What is something you love, and something you dislike about the Ranger?

Very true, for me its both paint and body panels. Very crappy bodywork on this truck. Impossible to keep it looking good long-term, but I'm sure it will "function" as a truck for a very long time.
  15. How many of you already have dings?

Based on what my guy told me (I had a ding right on the lower body line), he would have had to make a hole on the inside of the door if I wanted the line to be exactly the same as it was before (hard to explain where). I decided to just leave it looking (almost) like it did before, but not...
  16. How many of you already have dings?

Shit, looks like a body line dent, but I can't quite tell because of the lighting. They may still be able to get most of it out though. I had a really bad (I mean really bad) dent right on the body line (about 1.5 -2 inches long and .5 inches deep). The PDR guy spent over 1.5 hours on the one...
  17. How many of you already have dings?

That really sucks man, I'm sorry! With these new vehicles its almost impossible to keep them in perfect condition. The metal is flimsy and the paint damages very easily. I'm assuming it didn't make a massive dent? As long as the dent isn't right on a body line, PDR guys can usually get them...
  18. What is something you love, and something you dislike about the Ranger?

Curious to see what folks love and also what folks don't like about the truck. For me, I love the feeling of the ride, as well as the engine. It feels smooth as butter, incredibly responsive, and is truly punching above its class. Couldn't be more satisfied with its performance after one year...
  19. How many of you already have dings?

PDR guys can do an excellent job at times. I had a few dents that got repaired recently and they came out about 95% of the way, can barely tell there was a dent there.
  20. How many of you already have dings?

I'm 100% sure the truck will not hold up cosmetically for longer than a few years (especially since I keep mine outside). Metal feels flimsy like a can of beans, and the paint damages super easily. With that said, I feel as though the engine + transmission will be solid for years to come. I am...
