Going to the dealership tomorrow to sign papers on this order:
XLT SuperCrew 4x2
Cactus Gray
302A Package
Trailer Tow Package
Sport Appearance Package
Technology Package
Locking Rear Differential
$35,554.50 OTD
Basically 10% off MSRP and just a hair under X-Plan. Exactly $159 over invoice...
Yeah, if my math comes out right, my deal actually comes in just a hair under X-Plan pricing. (Though I'm an English teacher, so there's never a guarantee that my math comes out right.) :)
Final(ish) update: so after going back and forth with the salesperson and pricing a variety of trucks on their lot, on other lots, and ordered directly from Ford, here's what we've settled on:
XLT SuperCrew 4x2
Cactus Gray
302A Package
Trailer Tow Package
Sport Appearance Package
Technology...
Update: I checked with my salesperson and she said that yes, this offer does apply and stack with other incentives. Even better, it's taken off the price pre-tax, so for me, it's really a $535 price reduction!
I hadn't seen cactus gray in person until tonight. Online, it looked like sort of a dingy white, and I wasn't impressed. I was gonna go with carbonized gray. My salesperson called this afternoon and said they just got a custom-order cactus gray Bronco in that'd be picked up tomorrow. The wife...
So I've got a bit of new info and a couple of new questions. (Thanks for all the feedback so far!)
First, I found this on Ford's website under their custom-order FAQ:
This seems to confirm that you can use either the incentives at time of order or swap them out for new ones when the truck...
Nothing besides the locker seems important to me, and I've heard from some people (including earlier in this thread) that I might actively dislike the offroad suspension on the highway, which'll be most of my driving.
I'll check into this. I know my way around under a hood, for the most part, but I'm a bit more skeptical about installing something that could fail pretty catastrophically if I don't do it right. That said, I've thought a lot of things were too complicated until I tried them, so thanks for the...
Thanks for the reply, Phil. I thought I'd read somewhere that the 4x2 should be the smoother ride, so I was a bit puzzled, too, but your tire pressure explanation makes sense, and I definitely didn't think to check that before driving.
And yeah, the only use I'd have for 4x4 is maybe a...
So I went to the dealership today to do a test-drive and try some negotiating. Still waiting to hear how the negotiations went. (She's checking with the higher-ups about knocking about $800 more off the price.)
I do have a question about the ride of the two Rangers I drove, though. Both were...
This is good to hear. It's always hard to gauge other people's opinions when they're applied to significantly different builds.
This is exactly the info I was looking for. If I'm driving on the highway and around town 99% of the time, I don't want to pay for something that's going to actively...
I definitely see the added value in getting the exact truck I want. I'm definitely not one of those people who's got to nickel and dime the dealership down to the bedrock before I'm happy, but I'm also wired to really hate leaving bigger chunks of money on the table. Like, if this OTD price is...
Finalizing my Ranger purchase right now, but when it finally comes in, it'll be replacing a 2011 Kia Soul +, so I feel like it'll seem like an upgrade. :)
I don't have my Ranger quite yet, but my evening dram is usually a bourbon these days. Four Roses SiB, WT Rare Breed, and OF 1920 are in pretty heavy rotation. I also picked up a bottle of Nikka Coffey Grain recently when Meijer started stocking it, and it's really delicious!
Hi All,
So I’ve just joined the Ranger5G forum, but I’ve been reading the posts here pretty in-depth for a few weeks now. After six years of driving my 2011 Kia Soul (which is actually a pretty dang reliable little car), I’ve decided it’s time to get my first truck. We used to borrow my...
Hi all! I'm Chris and I live in central Indiana. I come from a family full of trucks (including a couple of old-school Rangers), but I've never had a reason to own one. That's likely going to change soon, though, and I've zeroed in on the new Ranger. I've learned a lot about these trucks from...
