Hey all,
Deciding to sell my catted SPD downpipe for the Ranger after all. Works great, but too loud for my daily driving taste. I will be selling it with a flex pipe welded on, ready to connect to whatever pipe you decide to run with this. I did 3”, if you do 2.5, you’ll want to throw a...
Did you end up doing a defouler? Did it work to get rid of the CEL and could you send me the link for the one you got if so? Sensors finally told me they weren’t happy with that O2. P0420 ?
I’ve had the downpipe on for a couple months now. Love it. I experimented with three or four different muffler/ glass pack options to find the best sound and growl, while also limiting drone, as I plan on taking this up in the mountains quite a bit and towing, so can’t have my head ringing too...
Switched out my Borla resonator for larger magnaflow muffler and REALLY happy with the result. It kicked back all drone on the freeway to a nice mellow cruise tone, no rough noise in the cab. I wasn’t really going for more noise with the downpipe, just wanted a little bit more rumble and any...
SPD High flow Catted Downpipe and custom 3” midpipe with borla resonator for sale, comes with flex pipe to complete Install. Connects to aftermarket or stock exhaust with adaptor. Installed about a week ago and the noise is a bit too much for me with towing and longer drives. Works perfectly...
Well call me crazy but the noise is too much for me. Great overall sound but with towing occasionally and some long daily drives the dull drone that comes with this is a no from me
Downpipe and 3” midpipe for sale lol
Im liking mine too but I’m struggling with the noise. I can take some rumble but even with an added universal Borla resonator that some members mentioned, it’s starting to creep up on my nerves driving daily on the freeway. I’ll have to see how I feel about this thing. Lol
Yep. Difficulty lies not in the complexity of the task but in breaking those darn bolts loose which in our case started to practically strip and cause a whole world of hurt. LOL
This was the most taxing and difficult install I have ever done. Sheesh. Literal blood and sweat. But sounds amazing and no dummy lights so far. if anyone is thinking of doing this install also, feel free to ask me for some additional tips that helped me get this done
Yep, it’s all in the same. The defouler is a spacer for the sensor, basically pushes it back a bit so the sensor doesn’t pick up as much of that high airflow, so doesn’t throw the flags.
Makes sense! From what I understand it sounds like the check engine light is likely just the O2 sensor from getting quite a bit more airflow that’s likely not as clean. If my research has any truth to it, I’d try a defouler! Might get you through your next inspection and maybe even emissions...
Did you do what they recommended with a defouler to get rid of the check engine light? Just curious as I’m deciding between this DP and SPD, and would rather not have any lights. Plus if you haven’t I’ve heard that’s pretty successful in removing the CEL
Haha! Love it, okay sounds good by me. Unfortunately fedex mysteriously said my package was delivered but never delivered it so that’s my current status. On pins and needles to get it on so I’ll let you know how she turns out when I get it!
Got it! Okay I appreciate the help. I’m basically following your lead here on this install. Got my 3” SPD DP, already gave the MBRP exhaust, I’ve got my 3” midpipe ready to go, and got my flex pipe and clamps. Any other tips for a smooth install other than the extension for the bolts? I’m hoping...
If I’m understanding on the flex pipe, I believe the SPD DP fits over the adaptor you referenced, then clamps to secure. Did you have to expand the other end of the adapter to fit over the new 3” straight pipe to the muffler? Thanks
