I have side steps. I, personally, don't like the OEM sidesteps (Tremor ones are pretty nice, though) so I went with aftermarket. I'm 6'1" and don't need them personally. My wife is shorter, so she likes them and it helps her whenever she's the one to strap the kiddo into his car seat...
"Comfort" is such a subjective criteria. Wife and I were just talking about how comfortable we found the Ranger to be (especially for a truck). And that conversation came at about hour 3 of a 4 hour trip with a toddler and a dog in the back seat.
I'm 6'1" and have no issues with comfort. My...
This is good info for those of us looking into a TT for our Ranger. Our family is looking into the Coachman Apex Nano 208bhs. It's 25' long (hitch to tail); 7.5' wide; 3948lbs dry and 6000lbs GVRW; unloaded hitch weight is 516lbs.
Given your experience with your rig, what are your thoughts on...
They've got the 193, which is a bunkhouse model. The bunks are the narrower bunks but perfectly fine for kids. I'd prefer the larger bunks rated at 300lbs that a, say, Keystone Bullet 2200bh has. The Keystone is also up on our list, but I need to rent something similar in size to see if it's...
Yeah. We're pretty set on getting an aluminum frame model. I think Wolf Pup calls those the "Black Label" line. They're on our list as well. Their only downside is the smaller fresh water tank. The Coachmen Apex line and the Keystone Bullets have large fresh water tanks, which we like.
Hey, Jeremy. I don't have much of a recommendation for ya but our family is in a similar situation as y'all. We're looking to get a TT for our family as well.
Anyway, we've limited our list to 3-4 different RV's. Top of the list is a Keystone Bullet 2200bh. It's a 21' box and a 25 trailer...
To the extent you care about this sort of thing, the Tune needs to be installed by dealer or ASE cert'd tech or you void the warranty. So you don't have to buy a PC unless you’re really dedicated to installing yourself.
Hey Phil,
I think we're on the same page here. The post I was replying to said that the number Ford puts out is all lab-based and devoid of "real-world" testing. I was pushing back on that assumption. For one, that'd be a terrible move on Ford's part from a legal liability perspective. For...
I'd push back on the assumption that the development of the truck and it's specs didn't undergo "real-world" testing. You've gotta remember that huge corporations like Ford have a team of lawyers that make sure they do everything to protect their client against suits. Part of that involves...
I'm interested in a similar TT to what you're describing. Specifically, we're researching if the Ranger would be adequate to tow around the Keystone Bullet Crossfire 2200bh. It's a 21' box and 25' from tongue to bumper. UVW is 4126lbs, GVWR is 6,300lbs, and a dry hitch weight of 425lbs.
All...
If only. I assume it leaves a digital footprint of some sort that's caught when the diagnostic is run. If there's a way to void a warranty, you best believe the dealer knows it.
Same. I told the guy I was talking to that I'd do the installation myself since it seemed straight forward enough but that I didn't want to void the warranty but that I wanted to keep warranty. Told him the instructions I've seen online are easy to follow. He come back and says, "if they give...
Random aside on this: I went to my dealer today to drop my truck off for service. While there, I asked the guy helping me to give me a quote on the installation of the Ford Performance Tune (I'd do it myself, but I confirmed with Ford Performance's customer service dept. that it'd void the...
Nice set up. Wife and I bought our Ranger with the idea of getting a TT to tow around on family vacations. Nothing full-time or anything close. Rather, we're thinking of 3-4 multi day trips around the west coast and southwest per year and occasional weekends to our more local sites.
Anyway...
If the intended purpose is to crack the rear window to allow heat to escape in the summer months, my question is why not just crack the doors' windows to do the same? Then you don't have to install this and lose use of 1/3 of the rear window?
Good to hear. I didn't have to remove the air filter, though it was a bit of a pain to install the passenger side bulb. Interesting that yours hyperblinked. I didn't have that experience. I agree that they look great. As I've said in previous posts, they are very bright, but I don't think...
