The parts dept just billed through service dept. its how ford pass works. They just saved you the walk to the service dept. some parts guys are either too stupid to figure out how to use ford points or the dealership doesn’t participate in the program.
I bought my truck from the dealership my neighbors family runs. I paid more there than if I would have bought it from another dealer because with neighbor I can’t do my usual buying a car routine (I am a complete pain in the ass to sell a car to. I bitch and complain about every penny on sales...
I can clay both vehicles and do windshields on both all year using one brick out of a mcguiores clay bar kit. 2 years for under $20. You only need a little piece of clay to do a car. Less for a windshield.
A friend of mine is a truck driver. He just spent $180,000 on a new Peterbilt. Has a automated manual trans. First trans service is 750,000 miles. He could not believe it when he read the service manual. If they can get a semi to go that far without changing trans fluid i’m assuming Ford has it...
As intertwined the auto supply chain is I wonder how many other manufacturers will have similar issues with cameras. The fact that many suppliers have recently ramped back up production due to covid alot of people to no fault of their own could be jobless sucks. Probably because some bean...
P&S beadmaker. Apply on dry vehicle every couple months and let dry overnight. Lightly mist vehicle every time I wash it and use it as a drying agent. Polymer based. Not a wax.
Welcome to sync 3. The newer vehicles aren't nearly as bad a s those a few years ago. My wifes 2017 escape is either possessed or jus a POS. Did a several hundred mile trip with no radio, nothing because it decided to have a time out.
The explorers come with the synthetic blend from the factory. Tied the lines in during the retool. No reason ford would spec oil for one vehicle different from the others.
I just keep really heavy duty zip ties in my truck for that reason. Zip tie doors together gets the point across without getting into criminal acts. A couple 3’ zip ties makes your feelings known pretty well.
Sync 3 on wifes escape I call hal. It has nerer honestly worked right and everytime I have complained to dealer they tell me it needs an update. Do update and it works for a day or two and then back to its normal self. Blacks out completely, can’t change radio stations. Volume doesn’t work...
There are a couple things missing that would make the truck perfect for me,
1. No heated steering wheel. I work construction and it is nice after working outside all day in the winter.
2. 6 foot bed with a supercab. Toyota has it. Ranger should also.
3. Synch3 sucks. Not as bad as wifes 2017...
You can get Ford to paint any vehicle they make in any color you want if you buy enough of them. Have worked for construction company's that have their own paint code with Ford. Just have to buy alot of vehicles a year.
There are videos on you tube about importing vehicles that aren’t technically importable through us territories like USVI or Puerto Rico. Not sure if a non US built ranger VIN would red flag a states DMV like say a right hand drive diesel Land Rover or a euro spec supercar. Being in Vermont I...
I work construction. One thing that is always a premium on job sites is power. Man hours are eaten up moving light towers (used during day because they have a generator also) plus rental of light towers or generators. Depending on where job is you have to worry about spill containment under them...
Had a girlfriend who had a geo metro. Car was getting hard to start and ran rough. Asked her when the last time she had oil changed. Deer in headlights look. So put it on ramps in barn and the damn thing doesn’t have a drain plug. Oil filter is barely accessible. So being too poor at the time to...
Had a ford escort with whatever the sport package was at the time. Blew a tire. No one stocked it and it was stupid expensive. Like $250 in the mid 90’s.
