  1. Fuel in oil

The Ranger is the 3rd FI vehicle I've owned since 2016. Started with a F150, the wife has an accord 2.0T and now I've traded the full size truck for the Ranger. All 3 of these FI engines had a smell of gas in the oil and all three of their respective message boards are littered with this...
  2. Accidentally bumped red line

I did the exact same thing several thousand miles ago......shifted to D, and forgot about it till your post. Never a problem and it just seems to get better and better every drive.
  3. Lost Warning Sounds from Speakers after amp install

When I did my F-150 I always assumed the issue was the harness I used to grab the speaker level outputs from he back of the head unit. Question then, because I honestly have no idea, do audio amplifiers create a certain resistance in and of themselves? Meaning If the head unit is expecting a...
  4. Lost Warning Sounds from Speakers after amp install

While not in the Ranger, I did have this happen on a stereo install on a F-150. I initially had all speakers in the vehicle amped (doors and the sub I installed). I immediately noticed the loss of the warning sounds but didn't think much about it. A few months later, I made some changes on...
  5. FordPass not working

I had a problem a few months ago where it wouldn't start. Did the text help on the ford owners site and after a few minutes of him fiddling around with it, the guy came back and said the "modem" was bad in the truck and wanted me to take it in. I tried it one more time after that, and it has...
  6. Vibration at take off

I know this is an old thread, but count me in the group with the shudder. Built date in April. Was going to get some more mileage on it to see if it gets better before bringing it in.......
  7. New Speakers, Amp and Sub

You mind sharing and details of your install?
  8. New Members Introduce Yourself!

Hi all.....Proud new owner of a XLT SCREW Sport in Magnetic. I cam from a 16 F-150 SCREW that while nice and had a good ride, was just too freaking big. Always been in smaller trucks until the F-150 and now I feel like I'm back at home.
  9. Aftermarket amp

While I haven't yet, I am curious....You planning to just throw in a sub and amp it or amp all the doors, or all of the above?
  10. Question for those that have changed door speakers

been window shopping for replacements for the factory speakers. While on Crutchfield's site, I looked over the disclaimers regarding the fit for our actual vehicle and it mentions cutting of the back of the factory speaker grilles. For those that have done this mod, does this sound correct...
  11. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

sorry for the poor quality but it was a little late when I got back.... well, having issues uploading......I'll figure it out.
  12. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Well, looks like I will be heading to pick up my new ranger today. I post a pic first chance I get. I really appreciate everyone's input and look forward to many years of interaction here on 5G. Seems like a very knowledgeable and friendly group here. Cheers!
  13. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Wow, that's huge. I certainly appreciate everyone's input. Trying to balance it all out. I will definitely check carvana and the like, but I'll also have to balance the tax liability on a trade vs selling outright and then purchasing outright..... I think that difference alone is around...
  14. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Good Point, The only reason I wound up with the F-150 was I coudn't stomach any of the alternatives in the small truck category (tacoma, frontier, colorado). However, living with it day to day, the sheer size and urban manners has had me looking around. I'm 46 years old and have never owned a...
  15. Talk some sense into me....although this may not be the best place for that

Hi everyone. Been lurking on here since the Gen 5 resurfaced and I've thought all along the next vehicle I purchase may very well be the Ranger. Browsing through my local dealers website this weekend, I cam across a Magnetic XLT 2wd with Sport Package for $6,000 below invoice. While I wasn't...
