  1. 2019-2023 Transmission Issues

I am going through the same things. I changed the transmission fluid, had the dealership run a scan and was told to replace the DPFE sensor. I didn't change the DPFE sensor yet but I did notice the battery was running a lower voltage.. I replaced the battery and everything started working like...
  2. problems with shifting, check engine light, ERG code.

THANKS for the reply.. This forum is pretty awesome.. Cheers
  3. problems with shifting, check engine light, ERG code.

Thank You. I appreciate your input. I have only 30,000 miles on the truck and never expected to have to do anything to the battery or have any problems with anything at this stage of the vehicles life. But here I am, when the mechanic tested the truck with the engine light on, he said it was...
  4. Best Diagnostic Software for our Rangers?

Okay, sorry bud.. I thought this forum was supposed to be about Ford Rangers. I guess I missed the connection. I am happy you got the advice you needed. Who am I to judge?
  5. problems with shifting, check engine light, ERG code.

I had all of these problems show up. I made a short trip through winding mountain roads using the trailer mode in my 2020 Ranger Lariat. I pulled into the campsite and as I was backing the trailer in I noticed the check engine light was on. I was very surprised at this because I was so excited...
  6. to all LEER CAP owners

my experience was awful too. I got the cap after a long wait.. They charged $4000 taxes in and installed it with many leaks, I had them fix that up and when I climbed under the truck to see how the wiring job went I was horrified. They ran the wire all the way back on the underside completely...
  7. Break In Oil Change - Thoughts

I changed mine around 4000 miles.. I had the truck in for some strange noise it has all the time... I figured if they're going to have it for the day they may as well change the oil.. I have always figured one should change the oil sooner than later on any new engine.. I wish I had changed all...
  8. I will keep my gas powered Ford Ranger until the wheels fall off.

I am 100% in agreement with your reply.. I really appreciate my truck and all the other gas and diesel powered machines I have owned but cordless electric chain saws, lawn gear, hand tools for tradesmen have been totally awesome.. I mean really awesome. It only makes sense we progress to all...
  9. Why Does the Tacoma Dominate the Off-Road Pickup Segment?

I owned a Taco for 10 years.. I totally loved that rig.. I had it set up with Biltstein 5100 adjustable shocks in the front and back. Also had a firestone airbag system. The only thing lacking in the old Taco was power. I had a 4 cyl version which didn't have a lot of power and a manual...
  10. Canopies for Ranger 5G

Thanks.., I think they actually did that on the second try. They thankfully put the rubber block seal on the underside of the cap so when I lift the cap, I don't compromise the seal by exposing it to whatever material I might be hauling.. I use the truck as a truck and haul sand, compost, top...
  11. Canopies for Ranger 5G

    Thanks, I will do that..
  12. Canopies for Ranger 5G

That was great service.. My local guys are so busy, this Covid thing has meant a business boom for all things RV around here. It is also really hard to find good trades personnel, so I get it. It's just frustrating. I sure like my truck though!!!
  13. Canopies for Ranger 5G

There is no doubt in my mind the installer is a bit sketchy. The Cap-it franchisees have been around quite awhile though and I had no problems with my old topper I bought from them 10 years ago. They have a mechanic (or what ever you call that position) that really screwed up the wiring and now...
  14. Air bags, helper springs, or something else a good idea?

I spent the afternoon trying to install the Firestone Air Springs on the Ranger. I followed the instructions, removed the jounce bumper and when I tried to slip the lower plate on with the air spring, I found I couldn't make it fit. It seems Ford has added some part that looks and feels like...
  15. Canopies for Ranger 5G

Crazy... You just can't get good help anymore HA HA .. Well as a Red Seal master electrician, I think I can do better. They charge $128/hour for this baloney.
  16. Canopies for Ranger 5G

They claim all the new Fords and Toyotas have the same problem.. They agreed to upsell me an RSI but they said they have the same problem too... It is Ford's problem..
  17. Canopies for Ranger 5G

Well they claim that both the Ranger 5G and the Toyota 3G both have the same problem... All of the canopies leak so they gooped it up with more silicon.. I have to take the canopy off now so I will see what kind of mess they made. Hopefully it won't be too bad... Meanwhile, I was about to start...
  18. What truck caps fit the 2019 Ranger?

Has anyone tried the South African RSI canopies? They seem like a good product built from Stainless Steel. Pricey but they have a positive pressure ventilation system to keep water and dust out. They also have guttered windows all around on there sport model.
