As of today Ford has denied my lemon law claim. I’ll be trading this truck in for something with a better transmission that isn’t a piece of shit. I would never recommend buying a Ford to anyone looking for a vehicle
Good luck to all who have the same 2021 FX4 as I do, I hope this doesn't happen to anyone and cause a major car wreck. I've been on the phone so far 52min with Corporate and have a case number issued
Well well well my friends guess what...? the transmission started acting up again today and the truck is back at the dealership. I'm going to call Ford Corporate and see about having the lemon law process started.
This time the truck again lost acceleration on the freeway and had no power for...
We all have the same symptoms in these trucks and everything usually leads to a new or rebuilt transmission either covered by Ford or out of pocket. They built a shitty truck and pawned it off to us.
I don’t know how Ford has profited at all off the manufacturing of these crappy trucks. Repair after repair when it comes to transmissions across the board it’s amazing.
Final update: 13 days after bringing it to the dealership I finally got my Ranger back today after needing to go and get a rental car thru Hertz (I got to drive around one of the Ford Edge SUV things for 4 days).
The dealership did the TSB 24-2101 repair order which my advisor told me was...
Piston is what they told me. And I confirmed that it is a warranty job. Tomorrow they promised more details so stay tuned everybody for our next episode of "what's broken now?"
I was informed today that at least one piston inside the transmission is shot. This was their first finding, we will see what else they uncover. My truck has been at the dealership for 7 days now.
That has not been discussed with Ford yet. They are doing only the reprogram and road test and then reporting back to me the results.
I will add that their first road test after a reprogram was a failure (the same problem persisted). So this second one is their last resort before moving in to...
Update:
since this thread was derailed about other things.
The technician was able to replicate the problems I brought it in for. Ford is doing a reprogramming of the computer first, another road test tomorrow or anytime the tech can get back behind the wheel....if that doesn't fix the issue...
Metering lights are the little stop lights as you merge on to the freeway. At times of peak traffic it’s meant to act as a spacer or barrier between cars. So that not a ton of traffic is flowing on to the freeway at one time to create more traffic.
