  1. 5G Ranger's Hauling Things Thread

My wife and I picking up shingles so I could put a new roof on my shop a few months ago.
  2. Oil found in charge pipe/intercooler

No, I would not vent the oil cap. If you're wanting to reduce oil vapors, a GOOD air:oil separator is the way to go.
  3. Oil found in charge pipe/intercooler

Crank case ventilation will do that.
  4. Arkansas OEM Halogen Headlights and Fog Lights - Like New

After swapping my headlights and fog lights a few years ago, I have had these sitting upstairs in our house, taking up space and I don't plan to swap back. Both the headlights and fog lights were removed with a couple thousand miles or so on the truck. There are no scratches or chips and...
  5. yamahaSHO's Street Truck

New oil sample... I'm not upset with it. I changed the oil just shy of 5k miles only because it had been 15 months.
  6. Trans Flush

I drained and changed my filter on mine at 10k miles and let it drain for a couple days. I also added a standard depth PPE transmission pan so I can easily drain later. I also found a piece of hose in my OEM pan.
  7. Throttle Body Cleaning

You can clean it without taking it off. We have to do this on some vehicles after flashing a map. If the TB is dirty, it doesn't want to start and idle as it can't learn the idle procedure. We just wedge the TB open with something that isn't metal, then use carb cleaner, rags, and a...
  8. yamahaSHO's Street Truck

After letting it sit for several days to drain, I got under and took a look around to see if anything looked out of place. I don't suspect this part came from the transmission, more likely used for assembly or just being sloppy. New filter and almost 8.5 quarts for fluid later, it's...
  9. yamahaSHO's Street Truck

It's a piece of hose. I have been letting the transmission drip all day and will get under there tomorrow and look around. I am not convinced its from the transmission... Or, a part used in the transmission.
  10. Synthetic oil.

Bypass pressure only matters to the filter itself. It's a delta between the media. I would expect it to change with a larger filter.
  11. yamahaSHO's Street Truck

I just pulled my transmission pan on my 10k mile Ranger and was greeted with this little piece of hose... lulz...
  12. Throttle Body Upgrade?

If he were going with a much larger turbo with a really high flow setup (generally porting things... but that's a bit more involved on this engine), then a larger TB may help. In the past, could see some gains on NA engines, but in this application, we have boost and particularly on a stock...
  13. Throttle Body Upgrade?

I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze here.
  14. Some dyno results for the naysayers.

I tune Fords as well. We also have a Ranger and Maverick, which I used for tuning development. I know A LOT of different tuning platforms. An Ecoboost Mustang isn't too dissimilar. The original dyno I posted earlier in this thread was comparing and STi tuned on Cobb and a turbo S2000 tuned on...
  15. Some dyno results for the naysayers.

I tune a lot of engines daily.
  16. Some dyno results for the naysayers.

It's really not hard to fix... Just don't ramp the turbo up so high to get those peak numbers. This is one of my cars, which is a Saturn Sky Redline that I tuned on E50. A lot of the tunes/dynos I see, people ramp up boost to like 26 PSI, but it falls. This gives high peak numbers, but it's not...
  17. yamahaSHO's Street Truck

Doing truck stuff? :p Coming up on an oil change, where I will take another oil sample from. Also going to put on a new transmission pan and change out the fluid. I need to re-grease the slip yoke as it's warmer out again and I feel it catching when stopping and taking off. Still...
  18. 1064HP Corvette

Well, grandma won the class by over 2 seconds, was one of the fastest of the day, and was like 2-3 seconds faster than a regular in a C8 Z06. :p
  19. 1064HP Corvette

I am a tuner. We've been doing 2000hp on engines this size or smaller for awhile. I respect the OEM of it and what comes with it, but it doesn't blow my mind.
