I'd just get some needle nose pliers, grab the threads and loosen them from behind. I'd imagine the torque isn't so high that the screw would be mangled before you could undo them by hand. Worth a shot if you can't find a tool t get the fronts.
I stepped out to see what looked like snow in my front yard was. It's 4+ inches of refrozen snow cone. Each scoop on my drive probably weighs 40lbs. No ice damage here though: just a glaze. People just south of me are dealing with power outages and lots of broken limbs.
I shoved a bunch of...
I feel like the frontage matters more than the weight unless you are stopping and starting a lot. I would get worst milage pulling this trailer basically empty than I would a loaded utility trailer with my last Ranger. It was just a 4x6.
I agree that many of the perceptions on Diesels didn't hold up to scrutiny. We can thank VW for killing them though. I had several of their diesel in the past and they were great. The 2015 2.0 I had technically could easily pass the admissions tests, but VW installed a cheat cycle, so that...
The seat bottoms are really easy to remove. When I traveled with my dog, I removed them and laid his bed back there. The seat backs, I wrapped towels around. It was free and pretty easy to do whenever my dog rode with me. That said, he didn't come with me often.
If no-one rides back there, the...
If this is him than yes. I haven't seen too much trolling over on 6G, but there isn't much fun either. I still check here even though I no longer have a 5G because I enjoy the comments. 6G is mostly Raptor talk.
My wife drives a Subaru Outback and I have a 2wd 6G XLT. The Outback will go...
I used the PosiTaps., with them, you don't even need to strip any of the factory wires. Put the wire in the slot and tighten the cap. It punctures the sheathing for a good connection. You need to strip the TBC wires, but they are easier since you don't need to do it upside down under your dash.
Unless your truck is an XL, it will work. Some XLs (not all) did not have the prewiring for a TBC.
The Ford harness looks like it costs more and would be a PIA to install with all those extra plugs. I installed the CURT on my '21 XLT. It took 5 minutes to install and the truck lost no...
Yes. You’ll still need to connect the tbc of your choice under the dash, but the wiring from it to the trailer connector is complete with that Curt harness.
To the left of your plate, you can see an outline of what to cut for the 7/4 pin connector. Behind the plastic, there is a hole for it in the metal frame. The plastic is not hard to cut. I used a razor knife and a Dremel.
Before you put the connector in, bend the clips out/open a bit. They are...
I'm no expert, but I'm comfortable with the recommended service intervals from Ford as long as the truck is being driven routinely. Then only time I didn't drive 10k in a year was during the pandemic. Not being driven is harder on a car than anything in my experience. If I don't drive 10K in a...
