I did a search through the Ford website for available inventory for a Ranger Lariat Tremor in white. There are a few within 30 miles of me. I have to let the process play out and see what the insurance company says but I think I'll be truck shopping soon.
I was stopping for the red light and looked in the rear view and thought "oh shit, he can't stop". I nailed the gas to try to get out of the way. I think if I was completely stopped I would be in the hospital right now.
Had summer Friday today. Ran down the street to Lowes to get a couple tools. On the way back stopping for a red light a box truck didn't see the light quick enough and back ended me.
Out of curiosity, when you replace the pads are you fully retracting the brake piston by rotating it according to the manual? Have you inspected the parking brake cables and retractor springs on the calipers to make sure the parking brake is actually disengaged when released. If a spring fell...
He needs to determine if there is something malfunctioning or failed versus needing better components. With the weight of the truck, it's easy to overwhelm the braking system when driving aggressively. If that is the case then better components suited for the task are worthwhile.
The pads are position specific. They are also labeled "inside" and "outside". The inside pads have dimples that line up with the grooves in the piston surface that @airline tech showed in the service manual diagram.
I have had a similar experience with the upshift lurch and torque converter not unlocking when releasing the gas pedal in traffic. Using sport mode is even worse in my experience. It makes panic braking a much different experience.
I'm curious what PCM reprogram you speak of. What does it correct or address? I had my 2020 at the dealers two weeks ago for a couple of driveability issues. I asked about firmware updates and I got no for the answer. Somehow my truck is running better though.
You will need a 35mm socket and breaker bar. Have someone push on the brake pedal when loosening. Installation will require torque wrench set at 221 lb/ft to tighten properly, have someone push on brake pedal when tightening.
I've realized even though I have had this truck for 2 1/2 years is the ride is very sensitive to tire pressure, more so than other vehicles I've had. I readjusted the tire pressure for the warmer temps we've been having and all is relatively good again. I tried some weight in the bed and it...
Shimming and angles do not always resolve the issue with this vehicle. I'm not going to regurgitate my adventure with the driveline shudder and vibes. My truck went through two dealerships to finally a Ford Field Service Engineer over the course of two years. They checked the angles and...
Not sure if I'm ready to go to 16" steelies. That is some great feedback you've provided. I'm going to see how keeping some weight in the bed may help the ride. I've been watching the classified section of the forum for someone within a days drive selling take-off 17" wheels and tires.
