Finally get to mess around with this thing. I installed it two days before my squirrel issues and haven't had a chance to mess with it until now.
The install wasn't to bad, just hate messing with the head liner. Getting the rear camera wire behind the side airbag curtain, and running the...
Finally
Got my truck back on Friday.
The dealer ended up doing an overlay for the cam sensor. Tells me they couldn't figure out where the break was in the harness or they didn't want to unwrap the tape from the damaged part and see which wire wasn't repaired correctly. The squirrel could of got...
Look at the bright side your wiring is still intact. I'm still waiting to get my truck back from the dealer from squirrel damage.
Like posted above, ozone generator will get rid of the smell.
There is a bunch of threads with solutions to keep the critters out of the cab
Got a call my truck was ready. So went to pick it up and the check engine light popped on as soon as I started it. Service Manager brought out a scanner and no voltage at the cam sensors.
So no truck tonight
They did tell me that the warranty on the repair will be for as long as I own it, so...
Looks like the Oil Geek had something say. Thought it was informative.
I think he's wrong about the 2.3 having the wet belt. Last I saw was the 2.3 oil pump was gear driven.
I'm wondering how much circuit protection is built into the PCM and other modules anymore. I've been thinking about the coil driver, since I ran the truck from remote start for a few minutes before I knew of the damage.
I wired mine to the BCM fuse no. 2 for constant 12v and fuse 35 for ign. power. Both these fuse slots are spares(not used) so you have less of a chance of something going wrong by using a active circuit to tap into.
We started the claim before we knew the cost or I would of just paid out of pocket. Of course we needed a rental so I could get to work. My wife needed her car for doctor stuff.
Plus I convinced myself that the dealer would just replace the harness instead of repair.
Seemed to be a common thing...
I like how the rings got freed up in 2 oil changes on the conventional oil engine. Thinking I might run this oil couple changes at 100k and then go back to Pennzoil Ultra
New update:
Finally got an estimate on the repair.
Ford decided to just continue on with the wiring repair that I started. They stated it would have been much more costly to replace the harness and given where the damage is and the fact that I had already repaired over half of the chewed wires...
