I had a top like that.
We used to play for "keepsies" with them.....drew around a 6 foot circle and started with two spinning our tops at the same time, trying to get close....whoever's top knocked the other one out of the circle got to keep it. If neither did than in turn with a second top, you tried to hit and knock the other guys top out before he knocked yours out...
It got interesating when 4 of us were hitting that ring at the same time.
I was real good at this.

lol No one ever gave it a second thought either. My dad would smoke at the kitchen table and also in the car with all of us in there in the winter time with windows rolled up. 🤢

Then there was this. I remember many get togethers like this and it's surprising I don't have emphysema. 😷

Back when us kids could take a deep breath, then blow smoke rings with the smoky air while holding a pack of candy cigarettes in our hand. Kept us amused during the parties.

Both my parents were smokers.....and I started when I was 15. They never said a word about it.

Only my dad smoked. So one day I thought I was going to be cool  and stole a couple cigarettes from him and went out back with one of my friends and lit up. Took a couple drags got light headed 🤢 and puked my guts out 🤮 and that was my extent of smoking cigarettes for me. lol

A lot of girls would sit around the bonfire and blow smoke rings at us guys. It was pretty sexy back then and I'll admit I was a little turned on.🤭

We stole a pack of chesterfields from a friend's father's dash and had that same experience. I figured if it didn't kill me, it made me stronger as my dad always said. That was the start of my smoking 2 packs a day for 30 years. Then my doc told me I had a heart attack and gave me no more then 6 months if I didn't quit. That was after blacking out working in our backyard when my wife was away for the weekend and showing up at his office with 250/180 BP after I finally came to with the whole left side of my body numb. Haven't had one in the last 25 years since. Only time I miss it is with the morning cup of coffee ☕. We even had a smoking lounge in my senior high school.

Yikes! Glad you quit and were able to get better afterwards. My dad would smoke Kool which were probably one the nastiest ones you could smoke. He had a stressful job (VP of a large machine shop company) and would smoke 3 packs a day and live on those and coffee until dinner time. He quit too around 30 years ago and I'm amazed at times he's still fine without any lung issues.

Yes, we had a smoking area too. When I was a freshman I was kind of shocked there was one because when you walked outside all you could smell was pot. This was the late 70's where everyone was smoking something.

20 of those years I smoked KOOLs also. Working in engineering under high stress we all had ashtrays on the drawing board with a lit cigarette in it 12 hours a day. The office was always filled with a big cloud of smoke. Now I can't stand the smell of a cigarette or someone that recently smoked one.

That was the first and only video game I ever had. lol

I (thankfully) never got into playing video games and now see how kids are with them now I'm happy I didn't. Pinball was fun and we use to walk the backstreets to the mall to play at the arcade there. It was a good 3 miles away but we never cared. My mom had no idea where we were all day either. As long as the police didn't show up and I was home for dinner was all that mattered. lol
