Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share pics of my 2023 Ranger Lariat. I'll keep adding to this thread when I have more pics to post! It took me about 3-4 months to find one that I could live with as I had a couple of sticking points. Had to be blue (my favourite colour), had to have push button start, no sunroof, tow package, and I wanted one prior to 2024 as I don't like the dash of the new trucks. I prefer actual gauges over digital screens (I really don't believe screens are meant to be subjected to -45c like we get here in Alberta!)

I bought my truck in August 2024, I traded in a 2017 Dodge Journey V6 AWD for it. The truck was off lease from some company down near Drumheller/Calgary. I only found this out because when I went to get it registered, it still had that company listed on the truck. Of course the sales person at the Ford dealership I bought from lied to me, told me an older couple had leased/used it for a year. When I originally looked at the truck, it was just a painted bed with no protection at all so I had them do a spray in bed liner. The truck also didn't come with a brake controller so I asked them to install the "FORD" brake controller, but they didn't do that, they installed a Curt one instead. Also needed a windshield as well.

It did also come with side steps and really nice Ford branded full coverage floor mats, which I thought was nice!

Here is the window sticker for my particular Ranger. As you can see, it came from the factory without the stupid start/stop, which was awesome. It also didn't include the 4G hotspot. The two things I wish this truck would of come with, especially since it is the Lariat trim, is the upgraded speaker system and the keyfob remote start (instead of relying on the hit/miss app).

One thing, I didn't notice on my initial inspection of the truck was this lovely dent on the roof. I have not a clue how this would of got there, but luckily it doesn't affect anything, so I just ignore it. I did have to change to a stubby antenna so it didn't catch on the overhead door into my parakde at home, which only has a 6.25 foot clearance.

Since I've had the truck, the only major things I've had to have done is have the battery replaced under warranty at 40,830 KM's. We had a cold snap, where it was about -40c approx when I got to work and didn't warm up much above -30c. It was like this for a week and ya, the battery did not like that. Even though at home, I park in a heated parkade, it just didn't like the cold. We shall see what happens this winter!
In November after I bought it, I had to replace the tires that were on it as they were absolute garbage. Though I could make it thru the winter with them, but nope. 1 snow fall, one sliding thru an intersection when trying to stop and I was like, new tires here we come!

I decided to go with MotoMaster Eliminator X-Trail A/T, M&S, Winter Snow flake rated tires 265/60R18 because I didn't want to switch tires twice a year.

It's funny! The day I bought picked up my new truck, I also bought a 1997 Jayco tent trailer. This ended up being a huge mistake, but luckily I was able to sell it for roughly the same amount I paid for it after I took it out on one camping trip this year.

I had three bad things happen when I went camping. 1; I forgot to chock the wheels before unhitching! Luckily I had a block near by to put behind the tire. 2; I almost burnt the thing to the ground. I had checked all the propane lines after I had bought it. Fixed it up a bit after I bought it, didn't take it out until spring this year. Got to the campground, got the fridge lit. Did some other stuff around the campsite and I could smell something funny... tried to find the smell... got to the fridge and I could see a small amount of black smoke. Turns out a line had worked a tiny bit loose and had a flame and was burning the knob above it. Luckily I caught it in time. Then the 2nd night, it rained out and I was sleeping on the lower bed and found that the roof had a leaked at the centre seam and I was soaked. I sold it the following weekend after fixing those two things!

This pic I did post in another thread, but will post here as well to keep all my pics together!

This is from when I helped my dad getting garden mix for his front gardens. Had basically 1,000 pounds of dirt in the bed! Then with us two sitting in the front, I was at full payload. The truck didn't miss a beat, pulled really good, rode good. I was actually very impressed at how well it did. When I had a similar amount of dirt/firewood in my '14 Ram I had a lot of rear squat. This truck had next to none!

I do kind of wish that the bed was 6' instead 5' with the rear axle a bit further back, but it still works!
