So I’ve seen countless posts about the transmission being a problem with these vehicles and just wanted to share my experience. I just purchased a used 2019 lariat in Washington state.. the night I pulled off the lot I noticed that pulling off from a complete stop the truck had a problem catching low gears and felt weak accelerating ( didn’t feel this on the test drive at all) . So I swing back by the shop the next morning to let the service department know. They brush it off as fords “ adaptive learning “ me having no experience whatsoever with ford vehicle and having no codes/ check lights I brush it off. Next day the problem is worse, driving the truck felt weak and the shifting was extremely hard and clunky so I go back to the shop and ask them are they positive it’s not the tranny. They assured me it’s not and I asked a tech to simply drive it for 5 min. Of course the moment he drives it starts the issue, he tells me I was right and there is a problem. They tell me it feels as if a tune was set on the car from the previous owner and them disconnecting the battery messed it up. They scheduled me with ford for a factory tune but the ford was booked out 3 weeks from the date. I get to the 3rd week and start up the truck. It barely has enough power to back out the drive way and started to stall and I got a code ( p2708 ). I immediately swing back by the service department and show them and they pretty much told me they will be replacing the entire transmission. I bring them the truck this Thursday and I’m set to get it back next Tuesday. Hopefully this resolves the issue. Truck is right at 66k miles.
