What dust cover?I want to order one of each and send them to a friend with a 3D scanner and make a modified part. Good search have me the Ford Parts diagram number but it's not an actual part number, more so a generic identifier for the diagram itself.
?Aren't there two per headlight behind each hi/low beam? I've read that diode Dynamics SL1's won't fit with the dust covers on. Before I buy I'd like to find a solution.
There are 2 dust cover per housing. The problem with fabbing a replacement is the doghouse sheet metal would interfere with fitment.Aren't there two per headlight behind each hi/low beam? I didn't get clear images of the space behind the dust covers, but I felt like it'd be doable to increase the depth about an inch and a half and not have any interference from existing body work. But I could be wrong. There are 2 dust cover per housing. The problem with fabbing a replacement is the doghouse sheet metal would interfere with fitment.
I believe the base number is 13k046, but that may not be the correct part. With the LEDs bulbs installed, I have to finagle the cover between the fan housing and the body. Also there are no part numbers on the caps inside or outside.
With your LED lights do you have a comparison picture of the stock halogen and the LED side by side or a measurement of the bulb length itself? I have two sets of these in the wife's car and they've been great for over a year. I want to order the same for my car. The company picture says they're close to OEM size.I believe the base number is 13k046, but that may not be the correct part. I don't have a comparison pic. What keep the covers from seating fully is the diameter of the fan. It is 40mm diameter. If the cover wasn't contoured as a dome but more square, the covers would seat. With your LED lights do you have a comparison picture of the stock halogen and the LED side by side or a measurement of the bulb length itself? Thank you for all the very insightful information. I'll try them and hope they fit. I'll start with the hi and low beams then grab a set for fogs later. They are a few mm wider than a stock bulb and a couple mm longer. Very very close. Love em in my wife's Escape but she had all the room in the world behind her rubber caps, and doesn't have to worry about fitment issues.I don't have a comparison pic. Those should work just fine, but please make sure that they have an adjustable base so that you can get the LED's firing correctly. With your LED lights do you have a comparison picture of the stock halogen and the LED side by side or a measurement of the bulb length itself? I may be switching out my Hikari for the Auxito. The fact that I can not fully install the dust cover irks the crap out of me.Having just installed these, I can attest to the fact that they fit within the housing with no modifications, and you can re secure both dust covers with no problems what so ever. Lights put out a nice beam and the bases are adjustable. Very bright. They also include an Allen wrench.
