Denver area, yes . . .

I don't notice much difference in how the truck runs, it is probably because I am worried more about the tranny and when it is going to just decide it has had enough . . .

We came from south florida (lived there ~13 years), so the denver area doesn't seem crowded to me. It is all relative though as GJ, Fruita etc is so empty. At one point the population of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties was more than the population of the entire state of Colorado . . .

Having said that, We drove out west on 70 a couple weeks ago (memorial day weekend) we left mid day on thursday. traffic wasn't to bad westbound. but compared to out of GJ north towards Dinosaur 70 was misery. lol
The 4th is usually the biggest day thru the tunnels, looking at the bright side of things there were warning signs on I-70 about possible flash flooding and closure thru the Glenwood Canyon which luckily didn't happen , the deluge occurred just past Palisade.

If I take a short walk I can see I-70 and a constant stream of motorhomes, travel trailers, razors and so on going to and from Utah. The Western Slope has been spared the reformulated gas mandated along the front range so our gas is now lower than that in Denver. Grand Junction is easy to get around with the exception of the where the big shopping mall is.

Yeah, I heard the new formulation is also supposed to cost us more too . . .

yay.

One would think that you would not be penalized because of physics. lol (low lying areas and air pollution)

tThere is a shopping mall in GJ? I did not know that. lol

also, to stay on topic - if you want a vehicle to last a long time, you should have bought a toyota. . . ?

I'm thinking it's the 8" lift and 35" tires my man
If you ask the dealer I took my truck to most recently they will tell you the truck hangs in 9th gear until the exact perfect conditions are met and than it shifts into 10th, but thats rare. . . . :fml:

Pretty sure I saw your post on Reddit awhile back. I'm sorry if you expected anything better here. It's mainly a bunch of old heads circle-jerking their mindless age-based superiority 9 times out of 10. The lead paint generation really poisons this forum with their Facebook humor, but thankfully there's a few people that actually dish out some decent advice. If it helps, I picture most people here posting minion memes outside of this forum and having a tenuous grasp of smartphones.

Mines in 10th on side streets ?
well hells bells.

lol

I could not imagine being in that high of a gear on side streets . . . really, I can't believe my truck is already in 5th by the time I get 1/2 a block down the road and I am only going 15 mph.

I didn't reveal my speed on said streets ?

Kidding, it seems to only need about 45ish mph to drop into 10th

Gotta get those mpg's up

The irony of saying this while AI generating a picture to use on a niche car forum. Real got 'em ??? vibes. Dropping a "lel redditor nerd" really illustrates the time-delayed boomer humor around here too. ?

Proud of you for knowing how to use a computer though!

Wow, what dealership is this so I know who to avoid. Also mine is in 10th at cruisng around 50....O'mera told me I had no idea what I was talking about when I asked them about installing a trailer brake. They said if I had tow mode then thats my trailer brake. I then had them do an oil change and asked for full synthetic, they did a blend . Havnt been back since.

If it's still in the teens with 35s and a lift tall enough to turn the truck into a giant air dam I'm genuinely impressed. I'm going with 14mpg! city.

but the air is thinner up there . . . so I am going to go with 14.001 MPG.

I admire your goals on trying to focus on reliability instead of mods. However, I have to say that at 17, you really should be driving around something much cheaper and not wasting money on arguably useless mods. I'm sure you know this already, but if you haul things - lifting your truck actually makes it harder to actually use the bed.

If you insist on keeping your money pit, the best thing you can do for longevity is to abandon the lift and tires as well as keep up with regular maintenance imo. Cold air intakes provide minimal gains. The performance pack is solid and definitely helps with shifting, but then you're expected to run 91 octane minimum adding even more costs for what is presumably your daily driver. I can't speak on the other tunes. At the end of the day though, most everything you've done and will do is just throwing money away.

Finally, I hope you didn't do any of these mods with loans like some people I knew who did at your age...

Mine will go into 10th between 48 and 49 mph on the flat stretches here.
