I did that.

After dishwasher I immediately coated it with oil, then fried the oil and tempered it for couple hours in the oven. Run in the dishwasher removes all the stains, grime and rust and it's like brand new after the treatment and excellent for frying eggs.

When I was a kid, my dog "rescued" my burger from my plate while I went to go get the buns. When I returned and found the burger missing, I put down the buns and ran off after the dog. He circled back and nabbed the top half of the bun. Yes, I was young & dumb. I admitted defeat, and gave him the bottom half of the bun, and went to get myself a new one.
