Notification "unable to download message" but bluetooth on phone was off

My phone was sitting on my dash when I noticed the Ranger popped up a message "unable to download message." I checked my phone because I knew I didn't have bluetooth on and I did indeed get a message. How the hell did the truck know about the message?

If it wasn't plugged in that's strange I've never heard of that one.

But then again I come home from work and see a bunch of posts I never made. Looks like my laptop is posting on my behalf.
