Does anyone know if the XLT cluster can be installed in a Lariat? If so, what issues would there be making the transition and what is the correct part number to order?

That or, is there a way to change what can be displayed on the right screen on a Lariat using Forscan or other? Basically, the right hand screen is useless to me, but if I could put a page from the left screen onto the right screen instead, it would be much better.

Not certain I would make the change even if it is possible, just curious if it is even an option.

As far as I know there's no way to change what the right hand screen displays, and I agree it is rather useless.

Yes you can swap them, just be sure to get one with less miles than the truck has. Getting one from the wrecking yard will be a lot cheaper than buying new. The reason for lower miles is that you can adjust the mileage up to match your truck but cannot roll back unless you have the correct tools. That would require a multi-thousand dollar scan tool with the correct Ford modules and even then would be hard to find someone willing to do it. You will also need to go into Forscan and make the changes for the correct cluster. I don't know what settings they are but searching for it should net results on what needs to be changed for it to work.

I've got an XLT cluster in my Lariat, love it! Plug and play. Had to change the right hand steering wheel switch to get control of the audio system back. The switch is NOT plug and play, took some sleuthing along with some trial and error with Forscan. Easy one value change.

I have hopes I can get navigation to display on the center display, but even if I can't, nav on the right screen was uselessly hard to see.

I ordered an XLT cluster from LKQ for $120. Can you give me some more details on what you did with the right hand switch?

Thanks.

Keep us update on how this turns out. I may do the same thing at some point. Really my only complaint about the Lariat is the cluster, although I may still get used to it.

Swapped in an XLT spec right hand steering wheel switch:
Remove steering wheel air bag. There are a pair of holes on the back.of the wheel. Insert a small screwdriver or other long, thin tool straight into each of the holes to release the clips to free the air bag.

The switch cover has 4 tabs to retain it to the steering wheel. Lower two are easy to see and release, the upper two, well, not so much.

With the cover off, swapping the switch pack is easy.

To enable the switch, you'll need to use ForScan to change the SCCM config.
