I was at my customers today when I noticed this target hanging over her door to the garage. I asked her about it and she said she went shooting last weekend for the first time at Shooters World. She said she was a little disappointed because she didn't get all shots inside the box. lol

She was wanting a M&P EZ 9mm but couldn't find one so I helped her buy one online on gun.deals. Prices are high ($460.00) but she didn't care she wanted that gun. Oh,did I mention she's 68 years old. Just goes to prove don't f'k with granny!

My wife and I like to go to shooters world, but are moving in two weeks a little farther north so we may have to start spending some time at Ben Avery.
When it gets a little cooler ?

I've never been there but have driven by there several times. I really don't like indoor ranges and prefer shooting outdoors. Where are you moving to? I'm down in Goodyear and if you ever want to make a trip down here we can go out shooting sometime. Yes,If it ever gets cooler! ?

This was Friday when we were going to dinner.

Just off Carefree Hwy to the east side of I-17.
Didn't realize it when we bought the house, but are close enough to hear the range on days it's open. I knew it was sort of close by, but when we viewed the house the range was closed so we didn't hear anything.
But we like the house a lot so we'll deal with it.

It's not that bad. My house back east was very close to one of the biggest outdoor ranges and you learn to tune it out. It only got real bad close to hunting season as it would be packed 7 days a week. It was cool to watch the local LE train there with their automatics though. They would throw away all their brass so I would grab it all and resell it which was a good little profit right around 2008. lol

As a civilian, I've only heard a bullet once go by my head. I don't know how close it has to be that one could hear it, but it was way too close for my comfort and I was scared to death. I was just a child at the time.

For those of you that are in professions where this is an occupational hazard, I salute you and pray for your safety. May God protect and keep you safe!
I had one whiz by my head once also...It was 1983, I had just turned 18 and recently bought my Marlin 60. I was shooting at a catalytic converter when it came whistling by my head and scared the T-Total Sh!t out of me. The thoughts that run through your head after something like that is unnerving, especially since I was shooting with a buddy. Needless to say I never shot at another catalytic converter again with any firearm.

Nice first build Doug and love the mag cover. I have one cheap sling that I bought a few years back and then this one which I had made last year for my CZ Scorpion. There are a ton of color choices and sizes to chose from. Mine is a 2 point sling which can convert to a 1 point. These are all hand made and very good quality.

This is the one I have but in 2 colors. I did the black as the primary color and the ODG as the secondary color and the weave type is the Double Cobra.

Thanks Dave. I can't wait to shoot it and hopefully won't blow up on me.

I am getting a cheap adjustable sling, about $20, and see how I am gonna use it and what length I want it. I will order one for me and probably for my SIL also. I will have to sneak a measurement of his sling and get it for either his B-Day or Christmas. :bandit:
I may even got one for my Marlin 60.

The wife said it was heavy, so I know a 8" pistol would be better for her. I will have to get a bipod for her to shoot it to begin with until she gets used to it.

I've never used a sling before so it was a little weird at first to get use to it but now I like it on my Scorpion. I don't use a sling for the AR as I mostly bench rest the 16" one. Personally I don't like bipods, they add to much weight to the front of the gun and always seem to get in the way. Take a look at the Cadwell shooting rest if you're going to be bench shooting. They're adjustable for height and you can lock it into place. Nice thing is everyone can use it and adjustments are fast and easy.

It's great for that and long distance shooting. The place we shoot at is an old air strip out in the middle of the desert so you can easily shoot out 400+ yards. The rest keeps you nice and stable and you can make your height adjustments with just a turn of the wheel. It has some weight to it so it's very stable on the bench and doesn't move around at all.

If you want an upgraded sling for carrying a carbine, check out the Armageddon Gear carbine sling. I’ve been abusing one and it’s my new favorite.

I’ll use a VTac sling for longer barreled and heavier rifles.
