Yesterday I attempted
installing the 3" level kit. The whole time worried about the stories I've read about cv joint damage on the 4 wheel drive. On the drivers side I had so much trouble getting the strut back in I heard a loud pop! I pulled the joint completely out of the transfer case end. And the popping noise was the boot popping off from the suction I guess. I took my time and managed to get the joint back in the hub lifting the wheel assembly with a bottle jack. The whole time thinking I'm going to have to have my brand new truck towed to the Ford dealer, I was sick. So I put it all together, pulling my truck out out of the garage I'm waiting to hear the clunking noise I've read about. What a nightmare. Unbelievably The truck is fine. I'm very lucky. Just thought I'd share the experience.
