I don't understand that remark. Bluetooth? Anyway, I have the vehicle sticker. It says "SYNC, AM/FM RADIO, 6-SPKRS" under the equipment package.

Well Im at a loss then.

I was under the assumption that all SYNC systems have siriusxm even in the 4 inch non touch screen models. Atleast in literally every other ford vehicle it does. I don't know why the ranger would be any different.

Okay so I was digging through the 2020 brochure. And NO where does it say sirusxm until the xlts.
Looks like you're right siriusxm is only on the 2020 xlts or higher.
Learn something everyday I guess.

That is some BS. My 2012 focus with base everything had siriusxm. WTF

No idea if your specific model has one at all, but it would typically be on the back side, inside of the dash. It’s common to have to pull the radio out of the dash for access.

That's what I was thinking until I read the only review I found. The review is horrible. And it's not simply a bad luck case where the reviewer received a broken product. It seems like the user interface is horrible:

Pull the radio out? How can that be? The whole point of an audio jack is to easily insert and remove alternative audio sources. Are we talking about different things?

Get an XM/Sirius radio that has a headphone/output jack and add an FM direct adapter to the stock radio. As far as controls, you'll have the screen above the radio on the dash and the volume will be controlled from the steering.

I don't understand. The factory radio has no input jack. How would the FM direct adapter connect to it?

The other option would be to purchase a standalone SiriusXM radio (Onyx) and also purchase a bluetooth transmitter. Connect the output of the Onyx radio to the bluetooth transmitter, and use the Ford SYNC radio to receive that bluetooth signal.

An FM direct is plugged in series thru the antenna. I believe I read that Bluetooth is not an option for the owner, so that term should no longer be used in the subject.
The other option is a stand alone unit and an FM modulator.

I am the owner. I appreciate your help. Bluetooth is an option. Smart phones are not an option.

Okay, the FM Direct Adapter connects to the in-dash radio via the antenna jack, not an AUX input jack. That should work. However, I think a bluetooth adapter sounds easier to install.

I have heard that connecting an external radio to your in-dash radio via some form of over-the-air FM modulation is buggy, and generally sucks. I don't know if that's true, but it sounds credible to me. I would try bluetooth, then the FM Direct Adapter first.

I suggest picking up a receiver that can go from your truck to the home cradle. One single subscription to be billed for.
Bluetooth is like the FM transmitter/modulator, spotty but more reliable.
