My husband's truck got stuck in some Georgia mud, and the property owner hooked up a cable and pulled him out with his ATV. As he did, he made a sharp turn and the chain slid and severed the power steering cable. He thought it would be an easy fix, just reconnect the wires, but there appears to be nothing easy about it. He can just manhandle the steering without power, but I have been driving it and the lack of power steering wears me out!
I've enclosed a couple of pics.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

yeah, i'd take it in and get it fixed. You pay to play sometimes.
wont be a good outcome when you try and avoid the kid running from between parked cars chasing a soccer ball.

I'd also not let some crazy home owner without a clue hook anything up to my truck. that's the Russian roulette of the off roaders realm.
Guilt trip not really helpful....neither is your 20/20 hindsight

Beat his azz for tearing up a perfectly good truck! Your Ranger must not have any tow hooks on the front....
