I was hoping someone can make some sense of this for me. I bought an 8 inch Rockville powered sub for my 2019 Ranger XLT. I will be installing using the factory head unit and using high level inputs from the speakers because the sub unit came with an adapter to use. The instructions say when using the high level input adapter to not use the remote turn on line. I've only ever installed subs and amps to after market units using RCAs so I always used the remote line. If I don't use the remote turn on line won't power always be on at the sub? The instructions do say to make sure an auto turn on switch is in the on position when using high level inputs, does this mean the sub is only powered when it gets a signal from the speakers? Just trying to shed some light on these vague instructions. thanks.

That sounds like some type of switch on your powered sub.

does this mean the sub is only powered when it gets a signal from the speakers?

Yes, that is what it sounds like to me. It sounds like it senses voltage on the speaker inputs to keep the amp on.

I’m looking at the 8” Rockville powered subwoofer as well. It looks to be one of the only ones that can be installed in the recess behind the rear seat without cutting carpet or removing the jack. Did you get this installed? Did it last? Did it provide decent enough bass for inside the cab? Any review you have on this thing would be greatly appreciated.
