Power Vacuum: How the State Wants to Suck Electricity from the SUV You Are Required to Buy Mises Institute

California Wants to Suck Electricity from the SUV You Are Required to Buy Zerohedge

Summary

A literal power vacuum—that’s what California Senate Bill 233 proposes.
And what is to be sucked? Your electric car.
The bill—which has passed the Senate and is now winding its way through the Assembly—states that all new electric vehicles to be sold in California after 2030 be “bidirectional.”

I would be OK converting to a climate change person if "the big one" San Andreas Fault would knock California into the ocean (save Fitzmotor of course, Fitzmotor must be saved). That was the climate "thing" when I was a kid. Then came the oceans drying up, ozone holes (burning up), new ice age (cooling down), rising oceans now!, acid rain, no rain (wide spread droughts), on and on. I can understand how these "people" got so exasperated and finally said "Just call it climate change OK! Nothing specific!".

When the 1% give up their private jets an massive yachts that burn 100+ gallons of fuel an hour an give up their mansions an no longer heat and cool multiple houses around the world I'll believe it's getting serious.

The US government is not serious about C02 emissions. When they blew up the Nord Stream pipeline the methane that was released in 1 week eclipsed the entire CO2 savings of all western Societies for the last 30 years.

They may be serious about limiting CO2 but it is not because of Global Warming.

Actions speak much louder than words.

We are the CO2 emissions they want to limit. They are pretty active about that.

power would be sold back to the utility and owner's won't be required to sell power back, however it seems another case where in theory it sounds good but the practicality is dubious and of course it will add cost to EVs sold in CA . But it's the Golden State of course and practicality seems to matter little to the lawmakers there.
Imagine believing politicians when they tell you you "won't be required". They'll just declare a climate/energy emergency and sign another executive order 6102.

Imagine charging your car over night, then find out in the morning it's only 25%.
So, plug in the car to charge it up, then unplug it so they don't undo what you just did.

Better yet, don't live in commiefornia.
