Hi, I'm interested in putting some led lights under my girlfriend's 2019 Ranger XLT. Im looking for the hot wire when door is open and cold when door is closed. I've tried to locate wires at the dome light but those are hot all the time. How does it know the door is open?

Hi Cindy,

My flippin' shop manual DVD will not access the wiring schematics for some reason, but your description would indicate the dome light is controlled by if it is grounded or not. Under this scenario, you would have to have the under lights hot all the time and ground them when the dome light is grounded. Really does not make sense to me that this is the case...but without access to wiring schematics, I can only speculate.
