switch

Hey has anyone seen this cubbie on the top of our dashboards removed and replaced with a switch box or panel yet or install a switch box onto it??? I went to pull it up n it looks like it just clicks in at the edges and center. Shouldn't be too hard to mount a switch box to it. Any ideas...
