Hey has anyone seen this cubbie on the top of our dashboards removed and replaced with a switch box or panel yet or install a switch box onto it???

I went to pull it up n it looks like it just clicks in at the edges and center. Shouldn't be too hard to mount a switch box to it.

Any ideas guys/gals?

Any manufacturers wanna jump on this???

I know there are some threads where guys are mounting their HAM radios there.

Also there are threads about the facia for switches like this one... https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/lightforce-switch-fascia-for-redarc-auxiliary-switches.1467/

That's not a bad idea! I haven't found a use for the spot for anything else... phone goes by the USB ports, sunglasses in the overhead console and anything else in the console. I went from a truck with no storage to far more than I need!

I wonder if heat would be an issue on a switch module.

Might be a good place for additional gauges a la the Fiero!

:like:I like the idea !!! Boost gauge, EGT's, etc. If I was still a Vol FF/EMT, I would have put my light and siren modules here.

Even a couple small digital gauges would look pretty good up there.

I wonder if someone could figure out how to hookup the gauge cluster like the Focus ST has. :) It would probably fit in the center speaker position where there's just a blank on non- B&O models.

I love those cars. I almost bought one years back that was the last year 1988. It had all kinds of stuff done to the engine and was actually kinda fast. Still wish I had bought it. To get the 1990 prototype would be a dream. I imagine the few there were got crushed :(

I’ve owned 2. My first was an 85 2M4. My first car ever. Then I had an 88 formula that had been put through the ringer before I got it.

would love to get my hands on a t top and put a V8 in it.
