Interesting stuff! My dual battery setup has been working great for over a year, and my issue is coming from the stupid BMS 75% charge rate. Totally obliterates what I’m trying to do, so I’m disconnecting it. I need to desulfate and charge my batteries cuz they’ve been put in danger zone due to...
Thanks it looks like most of these guys want weekend camping setups but there’s not much useful about running two batteries parallel like I did.
Disconnecting the BMS seems like the way to go for me. I’m also going to look into adding a solar maintainer.
Thanks @TJC
Everyone already owns my personal info these days due to my phone, smart tv etc. so I’m not worried about ford knowing my truck history, and want to keep the ability to unlock and start from the app.
To avoid parasitic voltage drop while not on and parked outside, I came across...
Thanks I read another post about the BMS and think that the little fuel savings it provides is far outweighed by improved battery health given my preferences if I disconnect it.
I just spent several hours going thru the posts here as I’m at a juncture. Great stuff here!
I’m nearing the end of my original stock H6 battery life (2019 XLT), which was extended due to me installing an additional battery in parallel to help power an insanely large industrial compressor a...
Where can I see what the parameters are for battery settings? I don’t have forscan, I’m thinking of getting it.
I run two batteries in parallel to power accessories, and I’m wondering if there’s a better setting I can obtain.
Happy to update that with less than a month to go on the 5 year corrosion warranty, Ford did right by me and replaced the entire door free of charge without a hassle. Super
Impressed and surprised.
While cleaning my 2019 XLT (I’ve been the sole owner in Maryland, 40k miles), I noticed rust around the rear drivers side door drain. Upon further inspection, paint is bubbling from the inside out along 9/10ths of the bottom seam. It moves when I put my fingernail into it.
Anyone else finding...
I did some homework and found the hot side of the fuses is the RIGHT side by using a multimeter. In my photo I have the fuse taps in backwards/upside down/wrong, which could end up blowing both fuses and possibly over tax the factory wiring. I’ve since corrected it.
I found alternative...
THIS! Anybody know? I’d love to use this outlet but what good is it if I unlock my truck and need to put something in the bed before starting? I’m thinking I may have to direct wire from the battery and use a relay to trigger the circuit power off of the unlock lights.
These are fantastic photos outlining what you did. Would be kind enough to post a diagram of how you wired everything? I’m trying to wrap my head around what goes where and why.
I’m planning to wire a compressor and bed lights.
There used to be a metal piece with a rubber flap that bolted to the front of the bed to seal up the lower front bulkhead. It wasn’t great and attached awkwardly.
The rubber block strip that tapes down is a much better addition and it even sticks to LineX.
A couple of comments. I have the Truxedo sentry CT and it came with the metal bulkhead adaptor and well nuts. Instructions for it were crap but I figured it out and it is not adequate for such a long piece to be held by two bolts. It has more play than it should. I contacted Truxedo and they...
