Ok, fine, yes, but the not so simple question is will it work without the module? Nobody on here has tested it, ford LITERALLY says it MIGHT not work, not that it definitely wont... Furthermore, even if it DID work with the AEB, is auto braking a 6000lb trailer going to prevent the crash...
Ive been on here for over a year and Ive read every one of them making up my mind. I am the first to review the liberty, and I came prepared to use real life info, not just "ford says it wont work without this extra module, and if a grandma pulls out in front of you going 55 with a 6000lb...
I have actually, but have you kicked it with 6000lbs of trailer, Mr. Expert? Ive been towing 8000lb+ trailers regularly for 17 years now, its not the same as an empty truck. Thanks for the condescending wishes of good luck though.
Thats assuming I dont hit the brakes on my own accord... if its that close that I wasnt going to brake at all, the AEB kicking on the trailer brakes isnt going to save my 10000lbs of vehicle... yall have a lot of faith in the AEB in a really unrealistic situation.
Oh, I got ya, yeah, the trailer lamp ecu thing... as everyone who had a redarc before yhey released it and anyone who has any other trailer controller can attest, it doesnt really seem to be an issue. Plus, if Im in an AEB situation with my setup around here, its probably already too late. It...
I mean, because ford sells it and approves it, doesnt make the the "ford version"... Im pretty sure the Redarc happens to work with it, so they say it works and offer it to sell, but pretty sure it wasnt designed specifically for the ranger... other controllers "can work" and probably do. There...
So, I needed to upgrade from my time delayed $30 curt, i do a lot of stop and go clearwater/tampa traffic with a 5000lb+ food trailer, I was going to get the regular tow pro but I saw this on their website, main difference is 3 axle vs 2 axle and a "user controlled mode for off-road driving"...
I mean, bumper pull trailers over 2500 lbs are gonna sway a little... just nature of the beast. You should be more than fine, my concession trailer is about the same weight unloaded, but much less aerodynamic and I pull it everywhere with no WD or sway hitch, and a cheap brake controller. I will...
Thats what i was thinking, bolt pattern should be the same, and im assuming factory offset isnt too ridiculous. Ive been waiting to get a few more factory wheel options, and i really like these.
Sliders and skewers mostly, and heah. Weve been discussing it for the better part of a decade, and had planned to be running beginning of the year. Covid has made it real interesting though.
Drove to Georgia last week to pick this up. Im blown away at how well the Ranger tows. And yeah, 9.5 mpg sucks... but you get that all the time with a diesel.
