When comparing the authentic to the counterfeit, the fake won't have as crisp of printing on the spark plugs, the shade of blue will be slightly off, the printed dot at the end where it connects to the coil won't be as crisp, and when you feelt it in your hand, the fake won't feel the same...
I changed out the spark plugs at 46K miles. Got the plugs off Amazon. Drove the truck right after, experienced a shudder I never felt before. Check engine light came on. Showed that there were misfires in the 4th cylinder. I took the spark plugs to O'Reilly's, and long story short, they showed...
Twice the check engine light has come on, twice it has shut off by itself. Everything on the truck is stock except for the transmission pan that I replaced for a larger capacity aluminum one. Any ideas why this is happening? Id appreciate any feedback or advice. Thanks in advance.
My fog light must have been hit by a rock. Completely destroyed. Needs the entire housing replaced, notjust the bulb. I'm going to confess that I'm not to mechanical, and unless I find a few Youtube videos on the subject, I'm not likely to get it done myself. Anybody out there that can point me...
Hope your OK. The picture looks bad. If you're in good shape without serious injury, it's good to know that the Ranger can protect the passengers that well.
I only tow occasionally. I volunteer to tow the Boy Scout Trailer for our local District. I've towed it around the immediate area, and not noticed the gas mileage before. Last weekend I drove 130 miles round trip. Stiff side wind. Got 12.5 mpg in hilly conditions. Does this sound par for the...
Oil manufacturers rate their oil to go that long. If you live in a hot and dusty (desert) area, that would shorten that interval, so would off-roading. Keep in mind though, oil is cheap, engines aren't. Peace of mind goes a long way.
It's been below freezing here for the first time since I bought the truck. That would be consistent with what you're seeing, with an unusual weather change. Thanks for the input.
Lately I have felt a bit of a thud or small jolt in low speed (20-35 mph). It worried me a bit, it's only just started happening. I don't want to be the guy who runs to the dealer with a complaint, only to have them not be able to replicate and sent away. I don't have that kind of time. Anybody...
I have the FX4 package. I think you're only missing the skid plates, which I would install if I were you (they're not much $). There's some programming that you're missing that the FX4 package has that you won't have, but I don't think that will slow you much. In all honesty, you're probably...
Engines have to be specifically designed for E85. That particular type of gas is more corrosive, so the metal in engines have to be designed to handle it. You're not going to tune your truck to handle it.
I've heard from some sources that waiting until the 10K mark to change the oil would be foolish. That the turbo charged engine puts more pressure and heat on the oil, and should be changed sooner? That makes sense to me, but what are other peoples ideas? And what oil brand are people using?
