I was stationed in Yuma years ago, used to run into the BP guys on the range early in the morning when heading out on demo ops. They were usually sleeping in their patrol trucks! ?
I've noticed the lack of traction on the Hankooks on my FX4 EVERY time it rains... Not really looking forward to any snow in them, it slides around corners on wet asphalt already! Thanks for your experienced recommendations! Definitely will be keeping an eye on your build!
Since you're in Winchester, I took mine to ORI to have the leveling kit put on. They did a great job, and one of the bosses said it was way more comfortable than his Tacoma!
I traded in my SHO for my Ranger. Loved the car, but moved out to the country and wanted/needed a truck. SHO got me pulled over quite a bit for speeding in NOVA, too!
(I let the cop go with a warning ?)
Looks like a great time! A buddy and I were talking about going to Seneca Rocks in the fall. WV is a beautiful state that gets a bad wrap. But we kinda like it that way, keeps people that might spoil it away!
Also, your taste in dogs is great! Had a Rhodie and Shepherd as a kid, both great...
Lazy A is a privately owned one, so they were able to stay open. The owners take really great care of it and kept the bath house really clean. We tried some fishing on Back Creek, but no luck.
The point of aftermarket exhaust is to free up the flow. Putting the stock resonator on kind of defeats the purpose. If you just kick it out the side, it will reduce the in cabin noise, and still get you the benefits of a freer-flowing exhaust.
I have the MBRP cat back with the turn down, it's definitely NOT quiet. If you spend a little more and get the one that follows the stock pattern and exits out the side, it'll probably be quieter in the truck.
I'm originally from the area Hellwig is located in CA, even knew some of the Hellwig kids. All that to say, your assessment of their customer service is not at all surprising, based on how their kids and grandkids acted. Their shop doesn't look anything like you'd expect a 'big' name to look...
Hey Andy, digging your build! Can you show me how you mounted the Trigger Controller? I want to get one and mount some ditch and rear lights, but they don't have fancy mounting plates for Rangers on the Trigger site. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the info guys, I've been contemplating adding the charge pipes. I've already done exhaust and an AFE cold air intake. I traded in a '15 SHO for my Ranger, and miss the performance of the 3.5 EcoBoost, even in that heavy thing!
