Just hit 70K miles! Transmission still clunks from time to time like it always has. Other than tire rotations and oil changes every 5K miles it drives great.
Next up is spark plug change and cabin air filter. Will check engine air filter also.
Aside from changing the rear diff fluid.... any...
Just hit 48.5K miles! Found some low mile take off sport wheels 17" with tires for under $400! Just put them on at 48K. Averaging 20-21mpg romping on it nearly every on ramp. Transmission still clunks from time to time going into reverse/drive and slow coast. Otherwise great truck sipping...
e85 (approx 105 octane) is the magical $2/gal race gas!
I'm blown away at these numbers for the only mods being e85 and a tune! Just wish my 2wd Ranger had a limited slip out back.
I've run e85 and a blend of it for years.... works amazing in a forced induction vehicle. Naturally aspirated...
I just hit 19,500 miles a little over 7 months later from this post! Also added factory aluminum Ranger 17" rims which made it look much better. Avg mpg without any tune/adjustments is 21mpg around 40% city and mostly 60% freeway going 70-75mph hwy with 87 octane. The bed is working great for...
Just hit 19,500 miles and the clunking is worse with 1-2 shift and especially Rev to Drive shift. The shift programming is horrible in D... but in Sport mode while more aggressive they are much better. This winter I'll take it in to get I'm guessing a new transmission.
Do either of you guys have a tune on your truck with this upgrade? I would love to see some data on the factory intercooler vs. Mountune air intake temps/pressure drop.
12,500 miles on the truck now... clunking getting slightly worse. I work too much and need the truck so I haven't had the time to take it in to be looked at... I most notice it when parked uphill/downhill as it will do more often the dreaded clunk. 1-2 shift clunks at times..... 100% stock...
My truck clunks into reverse every few days and also on the 1-2 shift. Doesn't sound good at all. My 2006 Toyota Tundra V6 with 186K miles drives better with an antiquated 5spd over this modern 10spd holy grail transmission. Definitely has more low end grunt over the Ford and gets about...
Checked tire pressure.... dumb *sses at my Ford dealership apparently didn't do a great delivery inspection... tire pressure at 23psi on some and up to 28psi on others... This was on top of my headlights/day time running lights not working (high beams did work)... from brand new off the lot...
That bed truly is awesome... the new interior space makes this truck waaaaay more usable! We put them on our pool service trucks and after looking in the US for similar ones they were around $4500 plus install which we felt was simply too much for what they were... it's a modular design from...
200 miles on the truck so far (reset it when I got it) and averaging 22mpg (mostly freeway with 15% city). Haven't checked the tire pressure yet; however that can improve economy by an easy 10% running them firmer.
Has anyone gotten into the 12's yet with some very basic upgrades to their truck yet?
My work truck only has about 200 miles on it.... but I see some upgrades coming soon to try and get it into the high 12's.
Current state of affairs on my 2wd Ranger: Bocar Australian aluminum (6ft wide...
Can you guys share what brand of oil catch cans you are buying and approximate cost? Another thing to mention is that oil vapor/mist does lower overall octane content the engine sees..... in addition to coating the intake manifold and then eventually the intake valves!
I was super into Buick Grand National turbo V6's and meth injection was very popular in the late 90's. There are plenty of methanol kits out with quality pumps and many fail safe's built in which are a lot better than a cobbled together setup.
A Hobbs switch will turn on a pump at a preset...
