  1. How long for the Ranger smile to fade?

Three and a half year update, I'd say the smile has mostly faded at this point. Pretty much all of the concerns I had early on are still there but I've learned to live with them. It's a decent truck all around, but I ultimately wasn't impressed enough to not consider competitors the next time I...
  2. Roof trim deteriorated

I'm not too happy with it either to be perfectly honest. Just the quality of component seems very low overall. I don't feel very confident driving the truck, I'm worried that even leaning on it might dent the door for example because it feels so hollow and the metal thin. I'm confident that the...
  3. Roof trim deteriorated

Is this really something that happens when they replace the rails? Like what could they have messed up to cause this.
  4. Passenger door windows slower than driver side

Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about as well. I went to the dealership today to get that roof rust issue taken care of (posted about it in another thread) and I noticed this issue on some of the Rangers in for service too. About a year ago I went to the dealership to check out if the new...
  5. Passenger door windows slower than driver side

Not sure if this is normal of all Rangers, but my passenger side window is a bit slower to rise and come down than the driver side. We're talking about 3 sec slower to fully go up or down. As far as I remember this has been an issue since I picked up the truck in 2019. Anyone else experience...
  6. Roof trim deteriorated

I was just told that by my rep as well. I managed to make my claim for roof trim days before my warranty (3 year) expires. Basically the 5 year warranty only covers rust that has made a hole on panels.
  7. Not even 3 years yet (2 weeks till) already found rust

I may have to make the drive if my dealership doesn't come through.
  8. Not even 3 years yet (2 weeks till) already found rust

I am also in So-Cal, if you don't mind sharing what dealership did the work, I would appreciate it. I'm starting to worry my local dealer in Riverside is not going to honor the warranty given the minimal rust on mine.
  9. Not even 3 years yet (2 weeks till) already found rust

Really? I was wondering how they replaced them. I am going to a Ford dealership Thursday that has a service and collision department. When I called the office lady didn't seem to know where to book me for "rust" on the roof rail/trim). She seemed to just book me with the service folks, will...
  10. What are your thoughts on the Ranger's long-term durability?

I would concur, engine and transmission have been awesome so far. Most of my issues have had to do with paint quality, trim quality, and the little rust spots. I also had an electrical problem early on after about 500 Miles which was resolved. Everyone seemed convinced that the truck would be...
  11. What are your thoughts on the Ranger's long-term durability?

Haha, man I just posted about my driver side trim rusting ... yeah. I baby my truck, freeway only, outdoor kept (but car port to protect from sun), wash every 2 weeks, wax once a month. Have only driven it 15k miles in almost 3 years. Likely my first and only Ford TBH.
  12. Not even 3 years yet (2 weeks till) already found rust

Are they really that bad? Honestly it's the first time I buy a new vehicle, and I'm so far not at all impressed with the quality of the Ford ranger. First I thought this was going to be my forever truck but now I doubt it'll actually last 10 years. What manufacturer is best with warranty...
  13. Not even 3 years yet (2 weeks till) already found rust

Thanks! A year ago I had my rear light housing replaced due to a recall, during the replacement they chipped the paint around the housing into the primer. Any chance it warranty would cover that at this point? Should I be concerned about rust developing in that area?
  14. Not even 3 years yet (2 weeks till) already found rust

I'm honestly shocked. I haven't even had the truck for 3 years and I'm already developing rust in one of the black bands (anyone know what they are called?) at the top of the truck. 3 year bumper to bumper literally expires in 2 weeks. Image attached.
  15. Looking for a thick Leather like Steering Wheel Cover

Thanks for the post, I just bought the one that is a bit bulkier (I have very slender but long hands).
  16. Battery keeps dying after only a few days, please help!

I did end up going to a different dealer, yes. These guys did a full diagnostic, kept the truck for a day and said they checked for additional issues. Once they found rodent damage, they said they had to check a lot of things to make sure it wasn't so extensive. I think that's prob why they...
  17. Battery keeps dying after only a few days, please help!

So turns out it was not just the battery. Yes the battery did fail a load test and so they did replace it under warranty, but they also found some minor rodent damage in some of the wiring. I park outside in a car port, so I'm really frustrated that this happened. I could understand if I had a...
  18. Battery keeps dying after only a few days, please help!

Does it sound like the alternator could be the problem? I don't mind a bad battery, that's easy to replace. I am going on a trip to AZ soon though (next weekend) and would really like to take care of any issues the truck may have before that. This is why I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow.
  19. Battery keeps dying after only a few days, please help!

Hi all, I've started to have this problem since right around the pandemic's beginning. In 2020 I left the truck sitting for about 2 weeks without turning it on, and when I went to start the truck, it didn't start. I called the Ford roadside number and gave it the truck a jump, they told me to...
