What this does is when you initially air the tire, the beads contact the wheel at an angle and don't always sit square in the wheel. When you let the air back out, relax the beads and re-air the tire they will actually square up into the wheel and the assembly typically balances smoother.

I installed the Bilstein 5100 and set them to 1.8 (slot #4) and have been extremely happy with the results. Shock Surplus has them on sale for $499.
