  1. Can anyone give me their thoughts about my potential suspension upgrades?

After taking it out on a couple camping trips and getting rutted in mud for the first time, I'm about ready for some changes. I currently have the Ford Performance Fox suspension, and I realize now that I probably could've done much better with something else, but its what I got. It gives 2...
  2. Any recommendations for a shell?

Well, I might have more problems than the shell if I rolled over. I was thinking some hard rocking from climbing, but you sound plenty confident, so I'll take your word for it.
  3. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

Thanks! Well, send him a message! And also, thank you for bringing that to our attention! We will consider how the hood will withstand sitting outdoors for prolonged periods of time through rain and such. Is the sound blanket on the bottom side of the hood a make-or-break item for you? It may...
  4. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

Exactly what we were thinking! The sealed connection to the underside of the factory airbox would be easily attached. Only requiring you unclip the mini-snorkle that is attached to the box. Vents are doable. Do you think that this would be more interesting to you as a purpose built full hood...
  5. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

Water and debris are things that will certainly be a challenge for us. As of now, we are not concerned with anything reaching the spark plugs because the air is coming through the scoop and then following a channel attached to the underside of the hood that leads to the cold air box. We then...
  6. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

That would be the obvious choice, but if you look under your hood to see the ram air snorkle attached to the cold air box, you will see that it's not optimal. Firstly, the OEM snorkle is undersized, restricting air flow; secondly, the air that it inducts is coming off of the air running off the...
  7. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

Performance gains should be second to a full CF kit, hopefully better than whats out there now. The full fiberglass kits are typically far heavier than a smaller partial product + the OEM aluminum hood that requires your install.
  8. Any recommendations for a shell?

Is that the case, would it require a welder? I'm worried that anything short of metal or fiberglass wouldn't handle much roll. But what do I know?
  9. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

Thanks for the response! Trust us, making it look good is certainly something that we are concerned about. It seems like scoops are 60% looking cool and 40% functional. I have an additional question, would you be okay with cutting large holes/having them cut for you in your hood to install the...
  10. [LOOKING FOR CLIENTS TO CONSULT WITH] Early stage of designing a functional hood scoop as a kit

We are currently working on designing a hood *scoop* to be inserted on the current OEM hood, that would redirect air flow towards the cold air box. What I would like from YOU, is advice. What would you want to see as a part of this project? Do you have concerns? Do you think its something you'd...
  11. Any recommendations for a shell?

man those things look so cool, but yeah like you said, maybe not in my price ranger haha edit: I did not mean to make that godawful pun, that was a typo
