Taco are the worst. Even the new ones feel 10 years behind. I can’t understand their popularity. I travel for work so I’ve rented a few new ones and just not great. Nissan is Nissan. I just don’t trust them. And now they’re teamed up with Renault and just no. I had a Jeep. It was a bad time...
First I am really sorry you’re going through this. I hope you get it resolved and it doesn’t cost to much. It’s really a shame modern autos with 7-10 speeds are all junk.
To everyone upset with their good transmission saying they’re going to run from the ranger because of this problem I...
They put out a TSB to change the trans oil to Mobil full synthetic. Turns out the dexronwas able to absorb water. It helped but did not completely resolve the issue. I think modern multi speed transmissions are just more complicated. But then in the 80s you were doing good getting 100k out...
The ZF transmissions also have big issues. I used to have a Jeep and it was a problem. Class action law suits. The ZF9 is worse than the ZF8 but both catastrophically fail and have shifting issues. Pretty much the same as GM and Ford. GM by far has the most issues I’ve seen though. Maybe...
I wouldn’t stress about. There are always going to be bad parts. CV’s only need a little contamination during assembly fail early. Be glad that caught it early. Many people would only drive with the radio on and never notice it until it starts clunking.
I also had given up on GM. So many electronic issues in the early 00’s and some still today. The throttle bodies were all junk. They’d almost kill you when you hammered the gas and the servo feedback was bad so it would put you in limp mode. This always happened when you were pulling into...
Yes. The Canyon/ Colorado has had a couple class action lawsuits filed over the 8 speed. None went anywhere but it’s still a big issue. The 6 speeds in the diesels are even worse.
