My Ford Performance Chrome Exhaust Tip installed on stock system did the trick. I can out-excellerate many full-size pickups and cruise at 85-90 and still get 18 mpg with a headwind... with or without the tip. How much more can I ask? ?

I've been considering the MBRP stainless rear exit Duals, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. In the meantime, I installed the Ford Performance Accessories KL3Z5K238A CHROME ROUND EXHAUST TIP It is now 25% louder, significantly more power, and getting 40mpg hwy... so you can see why I haven't...

I'm also looking for a yellow rubber doughnut to put around the dipstick tube. It's difficult to see the tube with dipstick removed in low light.

OK, great. My second idea was to just use (Ford) blue Loctite. I found the rubber washers at Lowes in the specialty hardware drawers.

Great ideas. I'm thinking about using a Mercury switch that turns lights on when hood is lifted. I don't really want to use my vintage NOS Ford accessory underhood/trunk light that works this way.

@NeilP, Did you get what you needed to complete your engine cover upgrade? Did it work out for you?

In my 2023 XLT Sport SuperCrew 2WD, I spend 90% of my mileage on Interstate and twisty, two-lane highway (10% in town). Has anyone had any experience with the BFGOODRICH ADVANTAGE T/A SPORT LT tires? I want something sportier for 80-85 mph touring.

@NeilP, Here's the source. I also used 1/16" thick x 1/2" diameter rubber washers under the hand nuts to keep them from loosening.

Here's my finished install with 7-lobe hand nuts. They fit perfectly.
