They were left over from a factory Ford pigtail harness I purchased when I converted halogen headlights to factory LED on my 2017 Super Duty. I imagine you should be able to find self sealing shrink wrap on Amazon or eBay. The way it releases the goop to make a waterproof seal is key.

Agreed, if you heat shrink all three wire inputs into the post-tap it would be water tight. Most people use them for a nice, quick tap and if going through the effort to use heat shrink, why heat shrink a posi-tap if you can just heats shrink? No argument here, there are many ways to skin a cat :)

I would use this more but I personally don't like to plug my phone in when it does not need to be charged. I wish there was a non charging USB for this reason.
