My ranger is a 2019 XLT and I have a canopy. I removed the 2 bulbs and it caused no problems. I did not want those lights on. It did not throw any messages on my dash.
Trailer battery not being charged. I have an XLT with the trailer towing package. I found it will not charge the battery UNLESS you have a brake controller. The the trailer module takes over and handles the charge.. It knows what is hooked up and what needs charging.
I also have some of these funny lights. My solution is to use a quality electrical tape and cut to the necessary length and cover the light. It will solve the issue, and make you feel better.

I just fixed the hard to close hood. It took about 10 minutes.
Remove the plastic radiator cover.
Remove the hood latch cover, that covers the latch. One bolt and one push in clip.
Carefully unscrew the two bolts that hold the latch.
Raise latch 1/8 to 1/4.
Test the hood closing.
