  1. In need of running boards

APS iboards on Amazon made in the USA ships super fast and very inexpensive. Options for supercabs are more limited. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RDPQ2L3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  2. Another Mouse In The Truck Issue…

Blower is held in by three screws from the bottom. Remove it and clean out the blower and box. I used a vacuum and compressed air to clear all the crap out. I fold a dryer sheet and place it on top of the cabin air filter when I install to hopefully repel rodents. Make sure you pull your glove...
  3. Softopper Camping Tent - Insulation Question

I put a layer of Reflectix up on the inside of my Smart Cap help keep a little heat in and cut down on condensation.
  4. Found in bed

This mystery has already been solved. Its a tailgate shim. PA66 refers to the variety of Nylon its constructed from.
  5. Drawer and sleeping platform

Thank you. The compartment sides are 2x10 lumber and each have a strip of 3/4" plywood running along the length to support the plywood top sections on either side. I used some turnbuckles to anchor the unit to the tie downs front and rear to keep the drawer unit from sliding around on me. The...
  6. Drawer and sleeping platform

Sharing the drawer and sleeping platform that I recently designed and built. The top is 3/4" ply wood supported by 2 2x10s with a 1/2" plywood base. The drawer is constructed from 1/2" ply wood. The sides are supported by the small ledge that is built into the bed walls. Made to be easily...
  7. No +12V on 7 way plug.

Looks like I'm probably going to end up using a relay like the one on amazon below to turn the 12 circuit on and off to avoid killing my battery. A 40 amp automatic reset circuit breaker and some 10 Awg wire should do the trick...
  8. No +12V on 7 way plug.

I think that may have been the pigtail for the 12V bed socket. I have the 12V socket in my bed but maybe its not a horrible idea to use this circuit any way.
  9. No +12V on 7 way plug.

I found the TCU but it looks like there is no TRM here. Nothing happens when I plug in a trailer put it in gear then hit the brake. Looks like I'm doing some extra wiring.
  10. No +12V on 7 way plug.

I believe that's the plug that snaps onto the back of the oem 7 pin socket that you just posted there.
  11. No +12V on 7 way plug.

Hmm I guess I'll have to buy the Curt Echo inline and just give it a shot to see if it powers on with a trailer connected. Its not so easy to test to see if that pin activates when I plug in a trailer. Looks like even the cheapest Chinese tester with load simulator is > $50.00.
  12. No +12V on 7 way plug.

I have 2022 XL that came with out the factory tow package. Recently I installed the factory hitch , cut the hole in my bumper, and installed the factory 7 pin with correct harness. I plugged in the tester to make sure every thing was functional but there doesn't seem to be voltage on the +12...
  13. Anybody using Rotella T6?

Don't think I would run it in the Ranger but I used to run T6 5W-40 in my turbo Subarus. From my experience it definitely helped with blow by and reduced how much oil I would find in the intercooler and charge piping. I also ran off spec fluids in the trans axel and rear diff with great results.
  14. Check your air box…

I discovered today that in just a couple of days time frame a squirrel managed to stuff my cabin air box with fiberglass insulation, pine needles and two rather large Norway spruce pine cones. It chewed through the cabin air filter, stuff dropped in and threw off the balance of my blower. No way...
  15. Draw-tite / Rigid / Reese Hitches crappy shipping

They ultimately provided a return shipping label for me after a bit of grousing. I'll be taking my chances some where else.
  16. Draw-tite / Rigid / Reese Hitches crappy shipping

Close up photos of the carnage.
  17. Draw-tite / Rigid / Reese Hitches crappy shipping

Once upon a time I was a service writer for a Reese dealer. I sold countless 5th wheel hitches, weight distribution setups, and Tekonsha brake controllers and thought very highly of them. I'm pretty sure we used to get stuff in boxes also.
  18. Draw-tite / Rigid / Reese Hitches crappy shipping

If you want an aftermarket hitch I would suggest going some where other than Reese. I ordered a Rigid brand hitch from them recently which arrived pretty poorly "packaged" needing repainted in a number of locations. I complained to Reese and the best they could muster was a $25.00 credit. This...
  19. Ranger vs Outback

Dude probably didn't know enough to turn off the traction control. That shit can and will bury you in a Subaru when there is deep snow. I had Geolander G015s on my last Forester in a slightly larger than stock size with a manual trans. It would go just about any where I would consider taking my...
  20. Ranger vs Outback

Subarus used to be available with manual transmissions and limited slip diffs. Those days are gone so I have a Ranger now.
