Well I am having the axle installed this week. I got in forscan and switched the locker on in the IPC module. I doesn't appear to be there in the BCM though. Maybe it is listed somewhere else? Is a lot going on in there.
For anyone out there wondering, this combo did not fit without rubbing. I had to loosen the front crash bars and push them forward. That helped mostly, but there is still some rub on the driver side when cutting the wheel hard and backing up for some reason. Doesn't appear to rub on the back...
I haven't got there yet. I did however change gears on the project. I returned the locker to 4wheelparts and as suggested earlier in the thread, I purchased a complete axle assembly w/5k miles on it. Has the harness too, I just picked it up today. I have the oem switch too. I'm having a guy...
Hey all, this is probably a dumb question on my part, but I am now reading that I will need to replace my ring gear and pinion as well? Is there anyway around this?
Thanks I hope too. I'm not even sure there is a connection the wiring from the locker would be able to plug into on this switch. I'm still trying to get my brain around it all. Maybe if I brought it to a Ford service center they would help?
Gotcha. I'm probably(definitely) in way over my head on all of that. I have the switch coming, I'll ask the guys installing it if they can get it to work. If not, I'll just return the oem switch and go with a dash mounted switch the locker comes with. Would obviously be nice to make it all look...
Yea I only had so many to pick from though, wasn't on my radar then either. $1200 for the locker, $800 for the install. Kinda sucks, but is what it is. Still cheaper than getting a new fx4, around here anyway.
My truck actually has no locker at all. I'm adding an aftermarket rearone. I won't have a front unit.
I agree though, it's looking like I may just have to go with a new switch.
So I purchased an Eaton e locker from 4 wheels parts for my non locker ranger. Looking into options to use the stock controls, if I can source them. Is this doable? Will I be able to program it like a oem unit? Would like to avoid cutting into the dash if possible. I know this may be a long shot...
Hello all. I'm about to order a set of Bilstein 6112 coilovers with 5100 rear for my 19 stx. I want to mount a set of motegi trailite 17x8.5 wheels. What are the biggest tires I can fit? Is it still 265/70r17? I think the Bilsteins allow a 2.5" lift, is this accurate? Am I understanding it...
