I'm in Richmond - I think I've seen one new Ranger since I got mine. I have the STX package in Saber - I'm not completely happy with the shortcuts Ford took on cetain items, but I'm happy with the performance.

The more I look at the diagram and think into it, I have to wonder if Ford really went through the trouble of making different headliners or if the replacement console would be a drop-in with a tweak to the inside of the roof. Anyone have input on that? Just drives me nuts that they nickle and...

I don't think it will be a direct replacement unless someone has a suggestion.

The more I look at the diagram the more I don't think it will work without cutting something. The console in my truck right now looks shorter. Ugh. Such a simple thing - why did Ford not just put the same one in every truck?

Thanks for that link - I was looking on that website and I must not have searched for it properly. I can't understand how Ford didn't see fit to put a console with a glasses holder in the XL.

I'm definitely going to have to go aftermarket. No way am I dropping $1800 just to have similar functionality. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the response - I was already looking at that idea. Crutchfield hasn't gotten mounting brackets for the Ranger yet apparently. I'm also wondering if you retain the back-up camera functionality if you go third-party. That tiny screen is killing me.
