I was driving home from work the other day and got a check engine light . I think the code is for the electronic wastegate, but I'm not sure. I am having the dealer fix it since it is under warranty. Has anyone else gotten this code before? Does anyone know if an aftermarket manufacturer...
I purchased one when I first got my Ranger, after a year I ended up removing it. The dampener kept pinching the tailgate hanger and removed some of the rubber coating exposing the steel bands. It also took a little too long to open when you just wanted to drop the tailgate, but I can see why...
I have not seen that crash bar before, those look nice. I'm just not sure about spending 80 dollars for a quarter inch of tire rub. I definitely could see using those if steering was impeded or running some larger tires.
The weather is finally getting nice out, snow is starting to melt, so I decided to put my new wheels and tires on. I was hoping I would get lucking and not have any rubbing issues with the crash bars, but no such luck. I bought some Venomrex series 602 wheels and Falken tires (same size as OEM...
Sorry to reply to an old thread, but I found some LED switchbacks that don't require a resistor.
I installed them and have had no hyper blink inside or out, just plug and play...
I also found my battery blanket/insulator chewed up. Turns out a mouse made a little nest in the blanket/insulator and chewed some wires. Check the wires around the battery to make sure they don't have teeth marks in them. I think the blanket/insulator is around 50 dollars, if the dealer wont...
Sorry for the late reply. I really haven't noticed any changed in the environmental controls, but I don't remember how the original controls functioned. It's been almost a year since I did this mod, and I haven't noticed any issues with heat or AC on the auto setting. For removing the sensor, I...
No problem,
Thanks for the input on the Lariats, I will change my previous post. Let us know if you find a good solution to stop the rattling that works for you.
I ended up undoing about 3 of the white clips, there are 2 close together near the A pillar on the driver side. Then you can slide past the one that is not connected and undo one more near the center of the dash. Don't go too far, there are two rectangular tabs on the bezel that go into the...
Hi Phil,
There seems to be a receptacle missing in the dash for one of the white clips on the defrost bezel located by gauge cluster. This seems to be causing the bezel to rattle on the dash when it is cold out, and you have the heat coming through the defrost vents. I'm not sure if it is only...
The bezel hopefully wont break, the backer rods are going under the dash so it shouldn't be too much pressure on the bezel. I would make sure the bezel is warmed up before pulling on it if it is cold out. Let us know if the backer rods worked for you, I am curious to see if it works for anyone...
Let us know what the dealer says, I hope they come up with a solution to fix this.
Sorry to hear about your dealer experience, if it makes you feel any better my dealer said they couldn't do anything either. Good luck with the backer rods, hope they work for you like they did for me. If they...
All 3 backer rods are one inch in diameter by nine inches long. The nine inches is ruffly the distance between the dash brackets.
I circled one of the dash brackets below, the other bracket is off to the right still covered by the bezel.
let us know what your dealer says. When i brought my...
So far no problems with the 3 rods, except making the dash bulge a little more. I think that is the max number of rods you can get under your dash. hopefully this helps anyone that still has rattles with only 2 rods under the dash.
One more update; I decided to add one more 1 inch backer rod making it 3 deep under the dash.
I will try the 3 rods under the dash for a while to see how they do (hopefully will help anyone that still has rattles with 2 rods under the dash). The 3 rods under the dash do cause the dash to...
Sorry for the late reply, the two backer rods under the dash have worked great for me. I almost forgot about this thread since my dash has stopped rattling. The dash bulging happens if you put the backer rod under the defrost bezel. This causes the defrost bezel to rise up over the dash by an...
I have had the Weather Tech mud flaps for a few months now, the only problem I have had with them is the metal clips (2 on each mud flap) are already starting to rust. I do live in the rust belt, but I was hoping they would make it a few years before they start turning orange. They haven't even...
