DID we ever get a definitive answer? Hate to bring up a super old topic but just curious. If I wereto try any 15 it would be a stock Toyota truck from the past as the offset is 30 and they are cheap. More sidewall = more traction, more artificial flex and better ride. I just put 16 4runner 6...
Thought I would give an update and say that I really like these shocks. They are a legitimate option for those wanting to save a few bucks. They do come with a lifetime warranty if that is your worry. They feel EXACTLY the same as the 5100's. For me in Hawaii, I saved quite a few quid by going...
I vote for this. I also have a 589 hidden winch and the 6112's. The larger coil definitely handles the weight better. I went with rough country M1's which are valved almost exactly the same as the 5100's for the rear(except made in China...). Why, because I live in Hawaii and it would have cost...
Best upgrade for sure. Weird cutting out all that plastic on a new truck but i'd leave a day. Be ready for raising and lowering a bunch of times to get all of the wiring correct. Put cardboard on the bottom if you care about a finish that you will never see again... Definitely put plastic wire...
Are the pin sizes the same? According to the ad below, the tacomas have the same fit as the tundra. I'm looking at getting a lift for the rear and it would be much easier to justify at this price point. Is this how you lifted your rear or have you compared the two. Not doubintg you but am just...
What was the size and length offset etc.? Do you have the part number? sorry for bothering I just want something that is close to bolt on or at least pointed in the right size direction. Mahalos!
Arrived today! That was super fast shipping and installed them without a problem.
ONLY GRIPE: and only if you are being a picky aircraft/telescope mechanic like me;
They come with 4 different length shims. I used the second smallest shim for the top and it seemed to poke out slightly from each...
I like my 6112's up front to hold the weight of the 589 w/winch. The larger coils hold weight better and the extra dampening is noticeable. I just could not find someone to ship to me at a reasonable cost that i was willing to pay for the rear 5100's. Plus I've been hiking the PCT, AZT, PNW etc...
I'm saying that they are of the same type of shock. Both have digressive valves and a 46mm piston with a floating chamber. They are most definitely built in different factories but have the same specifications. Other than .35inches more travel with the rough country but .88inches shorter. I...
I just ordered the M1 shocks for the rear. These are NOT the N3 twin tubes.
They have the exact description of the bilstein 5100's. 46mm digressive valve with 18mm shaft in a stainless body.
Everyone who i have talked to who has ACTUALLY tried the M1 rough countries have stated that they ride...
Typical, the cali raised relocater is a $30 part and it's $70 shipping to hawaii:crying::mad::surprised:
Any luck with the control box mount either? I don't like the 589 one...
Would love to hear updates.
I had an extended cab frontier 2008 that had a less of a turning radius than my 2021 double cab. I have a small radius rounabout driveway and had to do three points with that but the ranger makes it. Longer wheelbase which means the rear tires follow inside more but that is a given. That is my...
