I have an Access soft cover on my Ranger and have the same problem with the rail and clamps. I found that I had to have the teeth on the clamp meshed with the teeth of the cover rail and then torque the ever loving hell out of the bolts. So far, so good.

Mine is a 2021 XLT and has the remote start through the sucky phone app. I was ready to drop another $400 at the dealer for remote via the key fob when I read about the Start-X kit. Easy install and $300 cheaper than what the freakin dealer wanted.

Ordered mine today. I only noticed it after reading about it here. Such a small, inexpensive item for Ford not to include with any vehicle, not just my Ranger. Such a shame.
