I have a WOLF Pup 16HE, a single axle unit. Camping World originally set it up to where it was taking all the weight of the drive axle of my Ranger. The front measurement was actually lower than unhitched. Probably lucky I didn't wreck the truck.
I had to lower the L brackets down, and take a...
I have Bilstein 5100s. Talked the tech support with the makers of the E2, he recommended having the front a little high, to reduce weight on the truck, which I am skeptical of. My truck, trailer seems to be very sensitive to tongue weight.
I may try taking a washer out of the head, which will...
The E2 uses friction where the bars ride on the L brackets.
Probably normal for the conditions, but unnerving none the less.
It felt similar when the dealership had it set too tight, almost picking the rear wheels off the ground.
I took the bars off temporarily and while it was better...
Took a trip to West VA this weekend. Breezy on Friday, and windy coming home yesterday.
Yesterday was white knuckle the whole way, felt like the trailer was trying to rip the hitch off when we hit open areas.
I have my E2 adjusted by the instructions, but is there anything I can do to help...
Turns out there is no noticeable difference between the unloaded ride with 5100s vs FX rears, which is good.
Hopefully I will see an improvement next weekend with the trailer.
I have a 2021 FX2. I don't have the rolly loose feeling that people describe with the FX4.
But I do have alot of bouncing with my camper behind the truck.
I assume 5100s will help with towing, but will they be too stiff for normal highway use?
My center display has started doing things on its own.
I turn it off during early morning drive to work, and it turns itself back on.
Or I can be on the audio screen, and it will switch to Navigation.
Is this something I should talk to the dealer about, or is it a known glitch in Sync?
21 FX2 BTW
It's OK. I got the 16 HE because of the relatively low tongue weight (420), no slideout and a couch.
We didn't realize until afterwards that it had no drawers anywhere.
The dealership screwed up the setup on the E2 hitch, and it was terrifying the first tow, it was trying to lift the rear wheels...
The impact was higher than the bar.
I realize that it's there to control the tire, but just wanted to point out that the firewall isn't much protection, unlike older vehicles.
In my accident the crash bars weren't involved.
But relying on the aluminum firewall to prevent injuries is probably wishful thinking.
I tried to salvage the Husky floor mat from the passenger side and couldn't remove it due to the firewall being crushed down on top of it.
