  1. Dealer twice in 1 day, going back again

The truck is NOT unfixable. Codes are GOOD. It's intermittent problems that DON'T set codes that are hell on earth. You need a different shop.
  2. Here we go again

They could raise the price to a million dollars, doesn't effect me a bit. It's a vehicle, and a technology, I am not nor will ever be interested in owning.
  3. Question on exhaust install

I would just replace that clamp with a new one. As far as sealing, they do a better job than the u-bolt style. The dealer or Napa will have them.
  4. Question on exhaust install

That's not a u-bolt style, that's a mini band clamp. You're not supposed to reuse those because they stretch and that one does not look new.
  5. Question on exhaust install

These are u-bolt style clamps? I put those on with a 3/8" impact gun. If you can move the pipe, they're either not tight enough or you aren't over the pipe underneath the the other pipe.
  6. Electronic controls go on and off

Seems like a lot of amperage to be pulling out of the OBD port. I'd love to see a wiring diagram for these boards, sounds like fun times.
  7. Dealer twice in 1 day, going back again

Basically, the engineers have built this system that cannot be diagnosed, even by THEM, with any kind of surety. Even if you are looking at the backbone of the network with a scope, what are you seeing? Not the packets of information being broadcast across 2 wires, you're just watching voltage...
  8. Dealer twice in 1 day, going back again

I wrench for a living on fire trucks, and part of that fleet are Ford F-250's up to 550's. Honestly, I am tired of networked vehicles. ALL OF THEM. If you think a multiplex problem is bad in a Ranger, try finding the fault in a 45' fire truck with several independent networks. I'm just sick of...
  9. Coolant problems coolant low no explanation

My guess is the EGR cooler. It happened to my wife's Escape. Luckily, a lot cheaper than a head gasket. But you should track the problem down before it contaminates your catalytic converter.
  10. Self-Driving Cars Scaring More People Than Ever: Study

Think the electric vehicle has made a positive impact on this kid's life? Would you want YOUR kid right next to him? The list of negative consequences goes far beyond cost and lack of driving range. But no matter what, EV's are going to be crammed down everyone's throats whether they want them...
  11. FordPass Update

Wish I knew what Nougat was!
  12. Accidentally discovered a possible reason for bad K&N experience

Still seems like a lot of hassle to have the 'K+N Equipped' sticker in the back window.
  13. Accidentally discovered a possible reason for bad K&N experience

Most of the very good shop vacs can move about 150 CFM of air. Our little 2.3 liters move around 500 at WOT so you're simulating idle or a little faster.
  14. Free K/N Filter

Might I ask, why are you parting with them?
  15. Accidentally discovered a possible reason for bad K&N experience

James, you started this thread by telling the world you oiled your air filter wrong. You know what I never have to worry about? Oiling the wrong side of my air filter. Or using too much oil. Or not enough. Or buying K+N's special cleaning solution, or their special oil made from the scent glands...
  16. Accidentally discovered a possible reason for bad K&N experience

Honestly, I don't know why you guys go through such angst over air filters when the OEM is more than adequate.
  17. Parking Lights

Yes, they will shut off automatically.
  18. FORScan Modifications

What module do you go into to change the splash screen? How many choices are there?
  19. Is the 'Fake Engine Noise' for real?

I just got around to turning off the engine noise yesterday and it's very noticeable when you are at full throttle how much quieter it is.
  20. K&N Oil Filter SO-1002? WTF?

5,000 miles is the sweet spot for tire rotation too, kills 2 birds.
